Excellent idea. Bet Lou would love a geezer to snuggle into - apart from Mr Lou of course.;)

Just popped in quickly while t`internet allows me to - every time I try to post on here or LH the connection drops and I have to sign in AGAIN. Hopefully the gremlins are all tucked up in bed, I`m just off there myself so see you soon.

    Hi everyone

Chalky - great idea for the blanket. I'm sure Lou will treasure it, and it will bring great comfort at such a sad time.

Jean - thanks for the info. (I'm dept 79, by the way!). Thanks for the post numbers so that I can do the update, which I will do later on today. I haven't had a chance to look at uploading it to the new blog because I am still having problems staying connected for any length of time - a mixture of internet and power problems at the moment.

The snow that came down on Sat/Sun is still lying but is now frozen solid, which makes moving around a bit dodgy at the moment. I was slipping and sliding around just going out to the mailbox yesterday; I just wish they would upgrade to letterboxes in front doors here; so much more convenient when the weather is bad! Luckily, I am more or less stocked up so I don't have to go out too often, but it must be a pain in the you-know-what for some people. I just hope it all clears up soon - it may look very pretty but it does cause problems.

Well, I can hear the kettle playing my song, so I'm off for a cuppa!

Have a good day, everyone, and keep warm and safe.

I think that a Geezer blanket for Lou is a great idea - just the sort of emergency they were intended for.

Lovely time at knitting club last night - thanks to ISOM for the lift. Managed to make a batch of Roamin's microwave lemon curd before going. Tried some this morning and it is delish - thanks very much Roamin!

Snow that fell on Saturday was all rained away Saturday night and it's actually been a tiny bit warmer since then (well the bird bath hasn't been frozen solid each morning) but I'm still wearing thermals in the house and snuggling in a blanket to watch telly in the evenings. Got some lovely knitting magazines from a generous member of the knitting club who brought a load in that she had finished with so off to have a nice read and a spot of lunch after an exhausting morning (for me!) as had two phone calls and someone at the door to deal with. Bit of a reminder that the good days, although great, don't really mean that I'm up to a normal life with a job etc.
Sorry I haven't been very vocal lately; try to catch up once a week or so but been rather lacking in energy so not remembering details well enough to comment.
Do send best wishes and hugs to all, though.

So glad you lovely lot are happy about the lappy going to Lou -- I am sure there will be other things sent maybe even another blanket but it really is why we had the kiss the Geezer squares ready and waiting and it just shows how lovely it is to be able to respond to a situation immediately. So I will send 1 off tomorrow with all our love from her friends her on the Knit Your Square thread.

    thank you chalky
the latest kystgyse blanket looks lovely

going to take my hook and some wool out tonight and get under way with some squares for the 3 LH memory blankets and will at some point this week start a set to send off for a kystgyse blanket.

can i do a hugely proud parent shout?
my eldest DS has been nominated to recieve the award "Young person of the year" we are going to the awards ceromony on wednesday night. i dont care wether he wins or not im so proud hes been nominated. it brought a lump to my throat that when we got the letter he asked if grandpas jacket could be cleaned. before grandpa died he was having a clear out in his wardrobe and he gave brandon a cream dinner jacket it hung for a couple of years in his wardrobe but since GP passed away DS wears it on special occasions like his award ceromony at school and when hes performed on stage doing his music. i think because GP always liked being there or hearing about what DS was doing its like its his way of still having him around on these occasions.
