 Hello f1, and everyone else of course, I`m still here although I wish the Magic carpet would come and pick me up and drop me somewhere a bit warmer.
Very frosty here yesterday and today as well, so although it`s bright it`s far too chilly to venture out. Took DS to the estuary yesterday as he wanted to go fishing by the sea, daft begggar forgot to check the tides and it was out when we got there :p He stayed for a couple of hours though anyway fishing in the river.

Been finishing off some of the ufo`s this week so I have an update :T Looks impressive but it`s been done over a long time :o Must get some pics done before sending them off.

    4 prem blankets
    4 scarf/neckwarmers
    3 headbands
    2 pairs handwarmers
    2 prem hats
    8 geezer squares

Found my new hook in little J`s toybox so will get back to hooking again as the knitting is not going well :( brain is hibernating I think. Even the simple patterns keep going wrong for some reason, maybe it`s the cold weather freezing the little grey cells.

Might just go and light the fire to get the living room nice and cosy for sitting with the wooly stuff later. Have a lap blanket on the go so can get a bit more done before J hides the hook again.

Hope everyone is OK and just too busy to post. ((hugs)) if you need them.

afternoon all! Must be the time of year - mojo somewhat lacking here as well!
I have been popping in to read posts and try and keep up with everyone's news, and good wishes are sent to all, but I don't always have the energy to contribute.
I do have a new appointment on Tuesday to be assessed to see if I am a suitable candidate for Perrin Technique osteopathy - originally developed for ME sufferers but I do have some symptoms in common.
http://www.theperrinclinic.com/about.htm gives you the info if you are curious
The initial consultation may not lead to treatment as part of the training for practitioners is a system of diagnosis, so if I'm not suitable then I won't be treated.
It is private (eek!) and 2 hours bus journey each way (mega eek!) but I feel that I have to explore every possible avenue as long as it isn't too weird and outrageously expensive because (frankly) the GP isn't going to do it for me. Anyway, if I am advised that the treatment could be helpful then it will motivate me to try and get DLA properly sorted for a car, as that would reduce the journey time to 45 minutes each way, which is just about my limit for continuous driving.
Anyway, new year, new positive outlook so I've also started some GP referral exercise. I hate gym but I'm thinking of it as medicine and taking it gently. Even so I do have to have a lie down afterwards!
Hugs to all as we struggle with new projects and the vaguaries of life, love and the NHS!

  • Afternoon everyone from a cold but lovely edge of the Lake District!!
I've just been adding up all my totals for last year to update my signature, and to add on my update for January so far.

    6 KIDS BEANIES
    1 SCARF
    1 PAIR FINGERLESS MITTS
    1 COWL
    1 ADULT HAT

    ALL FOR LOVING HANDS

Working on another scarf at the moment with some eyelash wool I found at the bottom of the wool box. It was a bargain when I got it (can't remember when) only 10p a ball from Wilkinsons in their sale. Only takes 3 balls for the scarf - so 30p for the completed item. Good value I think.

Love, hugs and good wishes to all.

    Hi

Finished the fleecy socks last week, and gave them to mum to take into the home. Don't know if she has yet. I asked to ask if they'd like more before I knit anymore up. Don't want to drown them in fleecy socks lol :-)
Busy finishing off ufo's now :-)
Looked in a wool shop in a town near us, they had a sale on. Wool shops shouldn't have wool sales !! Got some nice sock wool, so toastie feet for me, or whoever in the offering :-)
have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all

  • Thank you Pippa for the great Jan Eaton and Stash Squares! Very much appreciated.
I hope everyone are okay. I'm a bit sluggish too after Christmas.! Why is this? I suppose we are too busy knitting and crocheting away before Christmas slightly wearing ourselves out I should imagine. Then find it difficult to get back into things.
    I'm trying anyway!

All my very best to my friends on MSE. x
    Love Sue x
