    Hello,

I normally spend my time in the cross stich cafe but have started to knit again.

I have stash of wool that was meant to become a sleepsuit for my DD. However she is now almost 7 so time to do something with the wool. So instaead of reading through four long threads could someone please let me know where do I start? Thank you :)

hi marru, and welcome to the thread. you could start with 6 inch squares, which are then made into blankets, or you could knit anything you fancy, a lot of us knit for a lady called LOU on the lovinghands website, google and it should be easy to find

  • hi marru, cant remember which post the details are on all about this thread someone with the braincell will be along shortly to let you know as SK said squares are always useful and lou from loving hands happily finds homes for everything we send her. mrs twins makes blankets with squares and often posts in here as well as on her own blog.
lovinghands.org.uk is worth popping into as thats the other place we charity knitters hang out and mostly send stuff to

Thank you. I have had a browse in the loving hands and tried to find patterns that I could do. I have five 50g balls of white Sirdar Snuggly 2 ply. I would like to make them into premature baby blankets. If I use pearl pattern then what size should I aim for? (Or should I use 2 ply for something else, like hats?)

  • oh Lou will love you forever if you knit baby stuff in 2ply she keeps threatening us with challenges for it as its her jarn of choice.

question is Marru do you use time for knitting or stitching? there just arent enough hours in the day
