Seakay - that's awful for you and your friend.I hope you are feeling a bit better.

ISOM - hope you're feeling better today.

Thanks for all your comments about my friend moving back to the UK. Although I'll miss her, I'm just so glad that she is doing what she really wants to do. We had a lovely afternoon yesterday, drinking lots of cuppas, shifting boxes around, and so on, and I ended up with a car full of pot plants that needed rehoming! She's flying back over to do the actual final signing on the house, then again at the end of October, to collect the rest of her belongings, so we'll have a chance to see her again. It will just seem strange her not being here any more. I can see just how much happier she is now she's on her way back home, along with her beloved dog, one she'd rescued from a very cruel man some years ago.

Anyway, I have some work to do, then I'm off to the holiday home to prep for guests arriving tomorrow, so I'll catch up with you all later on.

    Morning all!
Socky it sounds as if your friend has a stray and normal rules dont apply!! They havent been socialised so their behavior can be unpredictable; plus untrained they dont get thenormal rules/etiquette - ie that you pee in a litter tray not a bed! Wouldnt let that put you off! If you go for an older cat all the training/peeing should be done and PDSA will be able to advise you on a cats personality as they will have cared for it...hth? Sounds like the boys are settling a bit?
Seakay hope you feel better today?
Day off and going to take a gentle trip to fabric shop as mum going to make curtains for friends baby so they need to get fabric! I also need some quilting needles as doing quilt top by hand...Thank you for good wishes...feeling more me and taking my vitamin c to get rid of the nasties!
Have a good day all...be back later!

both boys are more settled now, tho daniel needs to learn some keeping the place tidy skills, staff says his flat looks like a bomb has dropped, and i have to agree, it just looks like his bedroom did at mine before he left

Kinsey - they don't get high blood pressure but they do have a high incidence of depression and suicide....which shocked me !
socky - hope kitty arrives and is a good one
    keep well, seakay and isom
Oh I have been stuck in that crochet book.........photo to follow sometime today........that water lily one is a bit of a sausage BUT being me I didn't give in I just hope that when they all get stitched up together it straightens itself out a bit.
PIPPAS. Hope the weather was good to you and DH down in Dorset and let you get packed away.
Mioliere - ADSL just banged out on us last night....not our fault, probably leaves on the line....yeah that's the sort of excuse you get when you phone up to enquire why!
Hang on in there. As for the insurance in France.........well, I must admit having come a cropper on the medical top up, DH and I are now wondering just why we bother with any insurance, we could just as well stuff it into a bank account and wait and see when we need to use it! When the barn roof started to slip slates in rotten windy weather.....nope not enough damage to warrant a claim .....in the end WE paid for whole roof to be re-tiled.
off to get a photo for you all to have a laugh at.....back soon

roamin' it'll soon learn to lay flat! You could try wetting it and pinning to shape?
    The heart ones are lovely.
  • Kinsey I am tempted to use a couple of dozen 6" nails ....I did try a quick water spray...but am unsure about hitting it with that BIG HEAVY FLAT THING that SOME people use to squish out the wrinkley bits on clothes (dare not say the word- think the one I own is rusty from non use). It's my intention to make a few more - well enough for a cushion cover and perhaps I will be better at it by the time I am through.
