:hello:
Lovely sunny morning down here in essex, rushing through the boring housew**k so that I can go and play in the garden
Posted off the little puppets and the preemie sfuff, so will have a look through my stash to see what to make next.0 -
Hi everyone
Jean and Chalky - lovely photos on Wooligans!
DH is working somewhere else today so I have the day to myself! I got all my chores done early (peeled the potatoes for dinner at 7am this morning) so that I could do woolly stuff. I know I should be painting but I'm just NOT going to! The weather is truly gorgeous today - almost like the first day of summer; I can hardly believe it. I'm going to sit in the conservatory with a cup of coffee and just look at the lovely view, which looks so much better with the sun shining on it. I've just started on a fourth purse so I should get that finished this morning

dawn, thanks for offer of printing, but as you know pam has invited me round to hers for coffee and cake, and will kindly print off for me while i'm there saving the postage. will catch up with you soon, when you get some days free xx

CAKE......DID I READ THAT RIGHT? Oh how I envy you both, a lovely meeting, chatting, pattern printing, cuppas and cake - sounds like heaven to me! I see you are all getting on with the knitting, mine seems to have yet again come to a grinding halt. Janette and me did do loads of sewing, frocks, shorts, trousers, skirts etc. I have tons cut out for Algerian Action (yep I "liberated" some towels again) and hope to get to them sometime this week. Chalky, can I have Aunties addy and I will get some bits done for her - later on in the month or even next month, when I look see what items are needed. My list doesn't seem to be going down, anybody else suffer from that phenomenon? I cross off bits and before I know it something else has jumped the queue, well saves me sitting getting a bigger bottom (that's some hope). Seedlings are still in the house at present so no running back and forth to the greenhouse or the polytunnel just yet. Jealous of your weather - yep even the snow, its all overcast and not at all inviting here but we do have the hope of sunshine towards the end of the week. Will be back as and when I get the chance, you all take great care for now, have a huge cuddle from me and enjoy your day.

Hi everyone - I usually post photos using Imageshack but they've altered the way you can upload and I've had to register with the site. I'm still waiting for email confirmation so, instead, I've uploaded to Flickr, which I think I'll carry on using from now on because it seems easier!
Here are the four purses that I have made so far for Operation Christmas Child. I hope the link works!
I crochet-covered a button for one of them and, for the purple one, I have used two rings as handles - the rings were the trim on a handbag that had seen better days. All in all, I ended up with eight rings - waste not, want not!
For the flower ties on the others, I just started off with a flower (ch 3, ss into a ring, (ch3 ss into ring) five times to make five petals, carry on with chain stitch until the tie is the required length, then just make another 3ch ring at the other end and repeat the instructions for the flower. If you need to thread the tie through holes, you will need to do this before you make the final flower - just make sure you cut the yarn off with plenty left over to make the flower!

Hi everyone
Thanks for the kind words about my purses. I think the challenge of making them is a very simple way of coming up with design ideas, I think! I shall put them in the post tomorrow.
Well, it really has been a lovely day today - I've enjoyed the weather and the chance to crochet uninterrupted which makes a change!
Chalky - safe journey for you all tomorrow! Are you flying or driving?
