:hello: Hope everyone has had a good week.
The weather has finally got a bit better so was able to get some gardening done
I would like to make some of the little puppets for "Aunt Dorothy"
1 Preemie Cardie
4 Preemie hats0 -
Have just finished my first purse for "aunt dorothy" - and may i say what a lovely lady she sounds - just like chalky! - I will try and do a couple more this week and (she whispers) will pinch a couple of my hats that were in my pile to send her as well - I love the hat pattern that is on the Operation Christmas Child website it is just so quick and the pattern somehow makes it feel so soft
Chalky will pm you xx
The purse is a great way of using small bits of leftovers - I cant be the only one that wont / cant throw it away I have a mountain in the making of leftovers. Am also putting the leftovers to good use for IS hats for Little Stars - and yes I could not really see what it was they were looking for although I did think on the original forum for this on here it was hats and blankets
kathy - I cant remember whether I said the other day but it is good to hear about BIL - fingers crossed xxx
seakay - I felt yuk just reading what you had done - hope it feels better soon xxx
psso - am sorry to hear that things are hard for you and also that due to bad weather you wont be able to have a little break - hopefully both weather and problems will improve soon - a break sounds just what you need - will be thinking of you xxx
The weather here today was just lovely - the sun was warm and I know this sounds odd but its felt so long since we had warm that it was almost like you had never felt it before - la la of me I know!
MIL & FIL and OH's nan came today as it was OH's birthday - I told him he does not look a day over 41 :rotfl:but he might by the morning ! FIL is ok but is not coping with the psychological aspect of the cancer.
My cousin has had her cancer op today and have not long heard that it went well - she will be in IC for a couple of days and then in for a further week - they will then need to start chemo - she has twin grandchildren arriving end of may/june so we are all saying a few prayers that things will be ok
I agree that the knitting we do is a positive with so much negative in the world and for whatever reason we do it its giving a little back
Anyway I should be heading off to bed - Im pooped after a hectic day - love and gentle thoughts to all xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
Thank you so much you lovely people -- I have just written to Aunt Dorothy and explained little parcels may be tumbling through her door!
My DMIL actually sends off little cheques to all the charities so that she gets post on her mat! It really is sad that so many elderly people feel so isolated. Anyway Auntie and I are so grateful to know such lovely people on here. You lot brighten my days every day!
I am loving the little purses -- They look so sweet. And certainly use up all those little balls. I might try one with a slightly larger cast on amount. I used to love little purses when I was little!
I am sending lots of gentle thoughts as life still seems to be holding some people to ransom right now.Lots of love to you all. I hope some of our MIA'S, Lurkers or "Edna Bucket's" might pop in and have a little look at Operation Christmas Child. We miss you!
Well the sun is shining beautifully so we are off to take Buster for a walk at Teignmouth by the sea!
I do take my crochet in the van for the journey which makes DOH laugh!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -

Welcome back, Seakay. Hope your toe recovers soon.
Elaine - I'm so sorry that the bad weather has stopped you going away. I think the forecast for Scotland was that it would get better there in a day or two, so fingers crossed that you still have a chance to go away.
Mrs Moneypenny - bet you can't wait to get everything back to normal!
Anakat and Shelley - thanks for your totals. They will be added to the update tomorrow!

Chalky - thanks for Aunt Dorothy's address! I have finished two purses and will take a picture tomorrow with, hopefully, the instructions.
Well, we are now on to the marathon painting session here at Chez Nous so there's been a lot of prepping. DH is working for someone else for a couple of days this week, so I hope to organise my time between painting (which I hate!), housew**k (which I don't hate as much!) and crochet (which I love!).
