Oh Pippa - bet we will never find you "at home" now you should be out and about enjoying the run in the car, what a smashing birthday you had! I shall hint here to DH but as I am ages away from the "big birthday" can't see me getting anything half decent, as usual I will be happy with anything.

    weekly update

I am still ploughing through a load of stuff for pressies and the school fete etc, but have now started an aran jumper for LH as I felt like a proper challenge and a change. No doubt I will get fed up with that and enter back into the hedgehog zone or the boobies for a bit of light relief. Hope you all have a great weekend, keep safe in all the rotten weather and I will be back when I can. Off to strip down the knitting machine I have one bent needle and need to dump it, so am taking the opportunity to give it all a good clean and oiling.

I was only thinking about you earlier Jean -- all good and also it struck me we have not heard from Dpixie for ages!
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Dpixie - wasn't she going off to SA for to see family for a while? I seem to remember she was packing a suitcase for someplace. BUT COULD BE WRONG - your memory is much better than mine..

Bet you're exhausted after all that faffing about too. Good luck in the new house. I am meant to be doing some on line Ch......s shopping and failing miserably, only managed two pressies so far, so will go have another scoot around and see what inspires me.

    Hi everyone.

Pippa - that brought a lump to my throat! What a fantastic birthday pressie for a lovely lady. I wish you many years of happy safe driving - perhaps even as far as SW France?! I will also check the update later on my b**g to make sure it's the right one. I keep forgetting - sorry!

I definitely think DPixie will be in S Africa now - like Jean, I can remember her packing and getting organised for it. I hope she is having a great time catching up with family.

Chalky - still sunny, I suppose? Not that I begrudge you but we could sure do with it in this part of Europe! Still, it's nice to know that the sun hasn't disappeared from the northern hemisphere completely! After two days and nights of solid rain, it's actually stopped now and I'm debating whether to put the washing out on the line. Luckily, it's warmed up, too. We've had a few cold early mornings and late evenings.

Well, I'm working on my SS so thanks for the 'post-by' date, PTB, although I shall get mine off a week before because it will be crossing the channel! It's been an interesting challenge and a brilliant idea so thanks ever so much for suggesting it!

Well, DH is up at the farm helping to fit a woodburner and do a few other jobs ready for the big day next Saturday, when the farmer's market and tearoom/cafe launch along with the Christmas Fayre, which we'll both be helping with on the day. Here's a link to the farm http://www.englishbacon.fr/html/about_us.html We're all really looking forward to it and hoping that it's dry or the car park will be a sea of mud. That's another job but there isn't time now. They were also thinking about tiling a huge floor in the barn where the cafe will be but I've suggested putting straw down for now because time is running out fast; hopefully they'll go for that otherwise they'll be panicking by the end of the week that they won't be ready in time. It's a lovely thing to be involved with - it's great seeing all the animals. I only learned the other day that they also have two horses (Cleveland bays) but I didn't get a chance to see them that day because we were too busy.

Anyway, enough mioliering for now. I have a monumental amount of dust to get rid of so I'd better get a wiggle on.

Hope you all have a lovely day.

May - if you're reading this, I hope you are doing well.

It is so lovely to have my Charity mojo back --- been so busy with everything family! That of course was lovely but fairly all consuming
    Love to one and all
