  • Oh if you win in the clutter stakes Mrs moneypenny can you come and make a start on mine please?
I have a list for unit shelving (that swedish shop) which is sky high but DH has said I have to sort something out this summer, he hasn't even managed to get a look at the sweatshop so I will be in real trouble when he does.
Loads of love and squishy cuddles to you all make your Friday count - think I will be cutting some grass, with lots of breaks in between tho'

You would be impressed with me Wednesday we decluttered a whole actual bookcase and about 100 books! I lugged 18 of them down to the high school with 30+old CDs that would be useful for the library and the design dept.
I have the rest of the books and 3 bags of clothing to go to the CS at the weekend. There are 21 paper recycling bags on our front to go this morning, AND 9 bags of donations got dropped off at the CS said last weekend!!!!!!!
But we haven't even scrapped the surface yet.

    We forget the material things,
    the baubles, jewels, and treasures.
But we hold each act of kindness
    dear in our hearts
    and cherish them forever.

    We forget the long nights,
and the rain the springtime sends
    but we never forget those
    who were there for us,
    our true and trusted friends.

And as you go about the day,
    I hope you'll know it's true,
    that someone out there
    appreciates your caring heart
and thinks the world of you.

    Hi, everyone.

Please forgive me for not posting for a while. We are currently staying in a holiday home in the south of France. DH has work here with his brother who lives here. He has just left his live-in girlfriend which is why he is renting the holiday home. We had no internet until mid week; how I survived for almost a week without it is a miracle, and certainly showed me just how essential it is, especially living so far away from home!

It took DH and BIL ages to get the work organised but they finally have a plan, so I am expecting to have a lot of free time this coming week, unlike last week. The kitchen here is the worst I've ever been expected to cook in; in fact, DH said the whole house reminds him of the worst kind of bedsit imaginable! I shall be so glad to get back to my own kitchen, and my own things!

I bought enough wool with me to do a blanket but I keep starting one pattern, not liking it, then starting another one, so I am going to make up my mind once and for all today.

The squares for Sam's blanket are truly amazing, and bring a lump to my throat every time I see them. Thank you all so much for making them, for choosing the most perfect blues, and to Chalky for all her work putting them together. It is going to be the most fantastic blanket EVER! Sam is doing as well as can be. He has started what the doctors call the lighter phase of treatment; the doctors are pleased with how he has responded so far to the chemo, and are still allowing him to stay at home, just going into hospital for the chemo sessions. He is tired, but able to go to school now and again. The hardest part for the family is making sure he doesn't pick up any infections. His dad and sister have had dreadful colds so had to keep well away from him. We are all very grateful that he is responding so well; the alternative doesn't bear thinking of.

Mrs Moneypenny - sounds like you've been really busy! Make sure you take time out for yourself.

Jean - what lovely lovely words.

Chalky - you must be beside yourself with excitement at your forthcoming visit to Dubai to see that precious little boy! I expect he changes every time you see him, doesn't he?

Elaine - I am so sorry to hear of your sad loss. I know just how big a space pets take up in our hearts. We had to have a little stray cat that had adopted us put to sleep last September, and it's such a sad decision to make but, sometimes, it's the only decision for the sake of the pet.

I hope you are all having a good Sunday. I will work on the update tomorrow. I should have the house to myself for a lot of the time this week, and hopefully will be back in my own house at the end of the week.

Glad Sam is on an even keel at the moment Mioliere. Keeping him infection free must be very hard. Nothing worse than cooking in someone else's kitchen! I cook sometimes at my daughter's and although I know her kitchen well, I prefer my own.

Not much being done knitting or crochet wise. Trying to catch up with household/garden chores before I head off to Ireland on Tuesday night. A full week of child minding over there for me. Looking forward to seeing my wee treasure!
