Morning ladies - sorry I have been MIA - our lappy lead went pop so no way of charging and Im having to resort to DS's lappy and I dont get on with it at all - its like living in someone elses house - you dont know where everything is ......:p

Firstly - pippa - I am so very sorry to hear about MIL - big hugs and thinking of you at this sad time xxxx

isom - has your mojo been found ? - also I am assuming by sore appendages you mean the front ones as I suffer with that (and mine are not big enough to write home about!!!) also you said your wrists were hurting - now its probably using computer more but I know when hormones are reaking havoc my bones hurt too ???? any connection there with you ????

roamin - your posts make me fall off my chair I can tell you - saying chalky got laid really ........ - your posts are always so amusing keep them up I love them xxxxx

sock-knitter - ouch you poor thing - sympathise with you over teeth - hope mouth feels better today xxx

chalky - am really pleased you are in contact with DD - new tattoo ooooo - Ive been hankering after one for years and I think at 39 Im now too old for my Dad to tell me off ......... when I hear Phuket mentioned it always sounds to me an interesting place - sounds like she is having a ball - hopefully your creative mojo will be back soon xxxx

Well just to let you know the knitted vest is finished and Im reasonably pleased as its a first attempt little short in the body though so would wear it over a long sleeved top I think - so now Im back to my comfort zone with some "normal" bits - pull on hat to start and then I think I ought to get on with the bed socks for xmas pressies - gosh another 4 weeks ish and LH's challenge is up for renewal again (I think) - I have not been over there lately - naughty me!

ANyway hope you all have a great day love J xxxx

PS I soon caught the squishing and cheek stroking bug with the wool - and noticed MIL doing it at weekend with my goodies from Lidls! - but then I have paper stroking fetish! - cardmaking papers etc - I want to stroke them and look at them but once you have cut a piece of paper or opened a packet the appeal has totally gone! Just send the man in a van for me I will go I promise but only if they let me take my cardmaking bits and bobs and wool!

i actually got my sewing machine out yesterday and did a couple of zimmer bags for LH Lou sent me a huge box stuffed full of wool and fabric so i better get my mojo in gear and do something

took roger vets yesterday for his jabs. hes still very sprightly considering we do know his age, he is a rescue cat when we got him they aged him between 2 and 4, weve ad him 13 years so that makes him at least 15. not bad going for a cat i believe. (you wait he'll get something age related now ive gone and broken the spell by talking about his health.)

we are out tonight DD has an awards evening at her old college she getting presented with something for good work in film studies.

i hope eveyone has a good day

  • Hi peeps!

PippaS – So sorry about your MIL. Hugs for you and yours.

I can’t believe it’s a week since I met up with the Sock-knitter and PurpleTeddyBear Sometimes the days just disappear, or, you wish they would. I’ve had a combination of both sorts this week! Now – to cap it all DS has got man flu, we all know how bad that is – lol.

I’ve been searching t’internet for a pattern to use with the lovely silk yarn I bought – I’d like to do a scarf for PamsPal – her birthday is in December. Of course I’ve found dozens & dozens so I’m spoilt for choice; hey ho!

Well, my Tunisian crochet hook arrived, its lovely smooth beech, very tactile. I gave it a go & had all sorts of problems, firstly there isn’t a flat bit to grip (I have always used metal hooks) so that felt really strange and the “hook” bit kept turning round & facing the wrong way. Then as I got a few stitches on I really struggled, I must move my hook an awful lot when doing normal crochet ‘cos I couldn’t manipulate the blessed thing once there were stitches on – I ended up holding it like a poker and moving the fabric around to get it on the hook – yuck! The end result didn’t look at all like the pics in the video – surprised (Not).

Talking crochet, do any of you use the “no chain foundation” method for starting your projects. This video show it quite well, I found it nice ‘n’ easy. I’ll use it next time I start a blanket, I find the chain start fiddly & the worst bit of the project. Here’s a video, there are loads of them.

I think there is a national epidemic of missing mojo, mine is hiding somewhere along with my camera cable and my reading bug. I could do some house***k I suppose, hmmmm!!!

Time for some lunch before I visit the dreaded supermarket!

Hugs & happy thoughts to you all.

    Luv
    Pam

OK I give in - you are going to have to tell me about the BOX Chalky, I am demented here trying to work out what/how/where/when etc.
Yes I am back, monsters survived my trip, only had to kiss them a couple of times to find out who messed up my wool!! Managed to hit the serious craft shops in Vannes and spent a bundle, got some very pretty buttons and so cheap, lovely ribbons - pure bargain, even had a "look" at some wool, yes it was smashing stuff BUT OH SO EXPENSIVE so I left that in the shop instead. Had a little surprise in the post yesterday and it has sent me off on a bit of a tangent...card making, never really had a go at that BUT I WILL NOW. So if any of you have good links to "ideas blogs" etc best you let me know them or all my cards will look like YUK - no imagination here. Right ofskie to catch up with the emails and other bits and bobs. Love and cuddles to you all

roamin - oh no not the card making bug - there is no hope - you will have to get in the van with me :p:p:p

What sorts of things do you like the look of - do you want to know what sort of designs etc to achieve???

you could try www.docrafts.com - there products are readily available online and in shops plus their websites show ideas - and there "stuff" is relatively inexpensive.

I know it sounds daft but I found some interesting bits and bobs on U-tube showing people making cards

I dont really look on websites - I watch Create and Craft on sky/freeview to get ideas - and buy the Docraft Magazine (used to buy a lot of card making mags but gave them up!!! good girl am I not - just frees up some money to spend on card making goodies or wool tee hee) - there is a forum on here for card making I believe

Or what about Blogger etc (can never remember the other one???)- some people have the most fantastic cards on blog sites

Whereabouts are you roamin? me thinks you over the water :rotfl:
its just I will think what else or where else I can come up with

Now you have me started ............

Is is rubber stamping / decoupage / embellishments etc you were thinking of ????

Feel free to PM Jaqui xxxx

EDIT- F1 I am stuck in Brittany France and the selection in the shops is NOT that brill....think it will be stick onto card thingies for the time being, perhaps later get a bit more technical.....Oh bye the bye I was on that wee van years ago, thought you could tell that by the postings I make! I hope to ease into this card making gently - not buying any mags, not buying anymore bits, I already have die punches and stamps from yonks ago and another failed project. Perhaps a lookeee see around what everyone else is doing will inspire my creative juices - well that's what I hope for.
CHALKY - IT SAYS on your sticker "see other designs at" but that won't work is there an alternative now?? EVERSO HOPEFUL
