Well we had Physio today and all going to plan . Swelling is going down. We returned home to a boiler on the blink. Blankets are out until the plumber can come tomorrow.
We bought the box set of Downton Abbey as we have never seen one episode. Thought it would be a good antidote to sitting around and we are loving it.
Lots of love to one and all xxxxxxTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
I am fine - pulled my left shoulder over the weekend so stuff is just taking longer to do, but I have been reading what's going on - Up for the squares for Sams blanket - Chalky are you cobbling it together? Also up for Mrs Twins squares - see I just adore making squares so easy, so quick and so cheap to post! (yep I love cheap).
Glad to hear the Sporty Chalky has the swelling going down, Kathy, like you I have a couple of slow cookers and they are on nearly non stop these days today it was chicken curry in one and steamed jam pudding in the other........ the smells were wonderful, the taste was fantastic. Tomorrow its chilli in one and rice pudding in tother. Mrs Moneypenny - how exciting for you hope you get all the knitting, crochet or other craftyness finished in time for the arrival. Oh and Dpixie is back in the fold - WONDERFUL too although you really have been through the mill. I hope to catch up properly with you all some time this week. I am going to be re-designing the office (which also houses the knitting machines) investigating some proper yarn storage systems at present - DH has said MONEY NO OBJECT - ha little does he know what I have in mind, no doubt I will get to do all the building of it myself and the clear out and re-shuffle but it will be worth it in the end. All 56 cows walked down the road early on Sunday morning I was the tail end Charlie in charge of cars not getting anywhere near them, My dear friend and neighbour was front runner - she is so amazing, but then so are their cows - all calm and happy to be away back home. Our fields will take in all the lovely dung that they produced over the last 6 weeks and make gorgeous grass for hay in the summer months. Its blooming freezing cold but I am managing to keep the woodburners going and the house is warm as toast.OK am off to have shower then slap some jollup onto the shoulder so I can get a proper sleep. Loads of love to you all, positive vibes to each and every one and off course your other halves. Back when I get more time to type even more (I know its all rubbish but I love to share it with you all) Jean xThe Hooligan Wooligan – age 9¾

The blanket squares sound wonderful; what a touching thought. Thank you all so much. Sam's football team is Chelsea; the team's main colours are Royal blue and white. Ginnyknit - is there no one that can come and sit with your OH, just so that you can get out on your own for a while, even if it's just for a cup of coffee in town or with a friend? Your health is important, too, for both your sakes. Another alternative would be to find out if there is a day centre he could go to, even if it was just for one morning a week - it would give you both a break. Does he have a community nurse? If so, she would be someone you could ask advice of, and you could also mention it to your GP. I'm glad it helps coming on here; it always helps me - sometimes, just writing down your worries and feelings can make a big difference.
I have just received a PDF via Ravelry for the Sun Granny square, so I will be getting on with that later. It looks simple and quick to do.
Jean - I agree with Chalky - take time out for yourself!

Morning all
I think Jean and ginny need to plan a day out together even if it is just a virtual one, both think of so wing you enjoy doing whether it's a mooch round a craft shop or some other little treat and see if you can find someone to sit in for you while you each achieve your break.
Once the Sam blanket has been agreed on will someone please let us know the size of the squares needed and roughly how many each and I'll get a started. I've reached the 20th square on the marled wool, I'm hoping I have enough to finish it then will need to buy some. White in DK to do the others. DD2 is picking me up later to tKe DS2 for his orthodontist appt so I need to hide my knitting away before she comes. Got to chivvy the boys off to work and school now so best make a move, hugs and very good wishes to you all.SPC~12 ot 124

Good morning lovely ladies. Special, special love being sent to everyone who has their plates flowing over. Keep coming on here and we can pass the virtual loving cup around.
let's get going. Please join in you you can. I am quite happy to make Sams blanket up. We are darting about a bit over the next few months ( knee recovery dependent) but I don't think it is a time driven project.
It would be a lovely tribute to Sams love of sport if we were to make the squares in the Chelsea colours. kathy has put a link to the logo and it is easy to Google the Chelsea kit to get the right shade of blue if you happen to have it. But, I don't want folks having to go out and buy wool when they already have a stash lovingly collected!!
can you please choose to make squares either in crochet or knitting. Following the football idea maybe plainer in design than some of the more floral ones we have made before would be efffective. For the blanket to look really good accurate measurement is the key. Could you please make sure your squares measure exactly 6 inches. Sorry to be a bit pedantic about the measurements but it is a complete nightmare if the squares arrive in a variety of sizes.
The logo has a splash of yellow and red and I will add these colours to the border which should set it off a treat.
If anyone is more techie than me ( not hard) could you put a link to the actual home kit as the shade if the blue is a little easier to see but as I say please don't feel you have to go out and buy wool.
I will make the blanket as big as the squares that arrive. If there are loads we could always make one for Sam and one for the hospital.
Do let the fun begin. If anyone needs anymore info or my address please PM me.

Sounds wonderful, Chalky, and as big as he is, he still loves and appreciates anything handmade. He, and his mum, dad, and sister, will be very touched by such a lovely thought.
I think I already have some Royal blue, and white, so I will look in my stash. As long as it's OK if I contribute a square, too?

Oh Kathy that will make it even more special and give you something to concentrate in. As I have said previously it doesn't matter how many squares we get as the League of Friends in the hospital would love one I am sure .
jeanwatch that shoulder!
Great to have a collective project again.
Could we start the Facebook page so that I can post the pictures of the squares as they are sent in. I think it would be perfect as already discussed to run it alongside this thread. Our home .
I can not psit pictures on here anymore as my Photobucket charged and I can't get I to my Flikr account!!!!!!Try and do a good deed every day.0
