Thanks again Niddy. Halifax/ HBOS have asked for previous addresses to locate her on the system. I presume this is because, though a debt management company know of her parents' address, the debt wasn't taken out at that address. As I asked you by email, supplying Halifax/ HBOS with previous addresses doesn't compromise anything, does it?

Cheers for your help once again. I'm overwhelmed by the support and direct help!

Sorry mate - did you say HBOS? I thought you said HSBC? Biiiiig difference there LOL - DO NOT sign the letter, use a font type only!

Ok so now i'm confused here, what exactly are you trying to get from HBOS - is it a SAR to establish charges or a CCA? Sorry, I do deal with a lot and forget these things from time to time....

If you can spend a few mins updating me i'll advise as best I can :D

I'm talking about two different companies. HBOS and HSBC. HBOS have not asked for a signature - they just want some previous addresses to link the accounts (credit card SAR).

HSBC have asked for a signature (we're after an SAR for a loan and a current account overdraft).

So, as a recap, there are 3 debts; two with HSBC and a big one with Halifax/ HBOS and we're only at the stage of requesting an SAR. Halifax/ HBOS want us to supply some previous addresses. HSBC want a signature.

    Cheers! :)

edit: No need to say sorry - you're spending your time helping us and we're very grateful - please ask away! Cheers! :)

    Hiya

Thanks - that makes sense again now! I thought you'd mentioned HSBC lol.... Ok,

HSBC: Sign the letter as usual but make sure you ask the g/f to put something there that she'd not normally use - like add a full stop at the end of the signature like a bubble (a centigrade symbol) so its unique and can be proved that it was a copy signature (if they do copy it) - also you can link to my post here to double prove you added such a distinctive mark. ;)

    HBOS:
Supply them with any previous address that would allow them to link to the account, preferably one that was used when the account was live and in use - ask your g/f to think about this and establish which address she last used, then supply it.

Only offer one though, no need to send them all - in fact, the account number would suffice however they will need the last known address in order to tie her to the account holder, it could be anyone you see - ergo they must be satisfied they are dealing with the right person in order to satisfy s.7 (DPA).

    Best of luck :D

Just by way of update, we didn't fill out HSBCs form nor answer all their questions about why we want the information; we just sent them a letter saying "we repeat the request and this letter is signed as authorisation" or something like that.

    right: updates.

First, baby has been born. 7lb 9oz. Very proud. The baby is very sick so we're staying in accommodation near the hospital, but she's doing well so far and we are hopeful she'll make an excellent recovery.

Onto the debts: HSBC want us to tell them (by phone or letter) of a branch where we want to pick up our Statement of Affairs. Should I do this or insist they send it to me at the c/o address? I'm presuming when we go to get it we just take our passport but don't allow them to take any photocopies or the like.

HBOS have Capquest involved who are hassling the Mrs with answering machine messages and have sent a letter to the c/o address saying that they will include: "personal visits by our doorstep collection agency" and "possible litigation". She has ignored the phone calls and I'm telling her to ignore the letter. Is this right? Apart from that HBOS have not been in touch yet about the SOA request.

    Any more advice? Cheers.
