What's going on here Rex? I posted a genuine enquiry. Someone goes out of their way to help me, then you intervene, remove the links, and put people off trying to help. Now I'm no better off. Yes I know how to use google but I wa looking for people's own recommendations which is what I thought the forum was for. Obviously I got it wrong.0

I dont have the power to remove the links. If you have any problems regarding this thread email the abuse team at [Removed by Forum Team] They are the only ones that can answer you here.
I pointed out things that had already been posted by the MSE team on this board. It is not a free for all so we can post whatever links we like here. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

The main problem here as I see it was simply posting links directly to the downloads. Links to the sites of the programs are allowed but Rex was right in that .exe links etc have been discussed on here before and if a post was removed then it is down to the moderators thinking the post was not suitable. The moderators have admonished people before on here for posting .exe links so there's no point in having exceptions."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I don't quite see how saying you don't have power to remove posts/links demonstrates megalomania? If anything it's opposite. Not sure what the antonym of megalomaniac is."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

i must have missed the previous thread on exe links. To be honest I don't even know what they are. All I wanted was some advice. I've already got C Cleaner but I didn't realise it would prevent someone accessing my bank details. This is my main concern. Thanks to all who tried to help.0

The advice, and examples of programs, and even links to where the programs can be found are fine. The problem is that the moderators don't want people posting links that essentially start downloading programs as soon as you click on them. This was probably why the original reply post was removed. If had simply had links to the websites where the programs were then it would have been ok."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
