I've read on one or two sites about using Scamalux board for lining stoves, but can't find anywhere that supplies it. Is there anyone on here that knows where it can be bought? I've heard that it mainly comes from mainland China - is this correct?

Scamolex is a brand name. It's just compressed vermiculite board. We get through stacks of it. You can find it online but they usually only sell it in 600mm x 1000mm sheets which means you end up with a join in anything wider than 600mm.
We buy it in 1200mm x 1000mm sheets but you'll never find it online. It's very fragile stuff and can't be delivered easily. By the time it had been packaged to withstand delivery it would cost a fortune. We buy straight from the manufacturer in the uk but we buy around £1000 worth of board at a time. They won't do small sales.0
