Ping and win - disappointment with camera

Hi Guys

As you know I won a camera on ping and win, very pleased was I, well the confirmation phone call came yesterday and they advised that it would not be a canon camera but a subsitute model of simlar spec, so I said ok. They said delivery would be up to 10 days.

Well the postman came knocking today with a special delivery and it was my camera a NIKON COOLPIX S220 - so happy as is a comparable model I guess, BUT.....

Its a RECONDITIONED camera, I am SO disappointed, do not want to appear ungrateful, but I am HUGELY disappointed.

I have emailled them so will let you know of their reply, what do you guys think?

Oh now! That's awful. I would be disappointed as well. There's definitely no mention of a reconditioned model as a substitute. I do hope you get it sorted out.

No wonder they can give away so many if they do that.
What about the other winners, are theirs the same, or have they just run out due to huge entries?

That's awful, I would have expected a big company such as mccains to actually supply new products for their promotion not second hand goods, It does make me wonder if they had thought the promotion through? Maybe they are trying to save money as people aren't buying microchips?

you will know as soon as you take it out of the envelope as mine has a birght yellow sticker saying reconditioned on it, I haven't broken the seal - I really hope they sort it out for me

I am saving that line for my reply email if their email does not sort it out! Glad it made you smile - it did bring a grin to me when I thought of it!
Maybe they might send me the HD smartphone instead!! - Now that would be GREAT of them!

i rcv call yesterday as well and guy said the same i will rcv the nikon s220 will let every one know when i rcc about its new or..........
