I'm sure some have done so before, as some do so now. Then again, I'm sure many didn't, and many don't.0 -

Are you one of them folk that demands only those who can afford the extortianate cost of housing etc, should be allowed to breed?
Do dogs also have to save to breed? Or just humans? All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -

I'm one of those people who think that people should only have children when they can afford to do so - it's called responsible parenthood.0 -
The OP can rent whatever size of property he wants. As it is a private rented sector property, the OP will get LHA. The LHA will be determined by the size of property 'needed' under HB regs, which will depend on the ages and genders of the children - because as many people have pointed out, it is perfectly reasonable for siblings to share a room. You get one bedroom for every adult couple, one bedroom for over-16s, one bedroom for every two children under the age of 10 (regardless of gender), one room for every two children over 10 of the same gender. If the LHA is more than the rent, he will get the maximum of the rent + (I think)£15 per week and the LHA rate.
So...e.g if there are three boys and one girl (or three girls and one boy) all over 10 and under 16 then OP gets the 4-bed rate.0 -
I'm one of those cutting edge radicals who believe that we ALL expect far too much from the "Nanny state". We "Expect" the state to provide us with just about everything we need in life.Whatever happend to people taking responsability for their own actions. We have 2 children, we stopped at 2 because we know we can afford to bring up two. We can't afford 3 or 4 or 5.
I fully understand that circumstances can change and hopefully by the Grace of God we will be ok, HOWEVER vast numbers of people have more children than they can afford knowing the Tax paying public will subsidise them. This has grown over the past 13yrs of the Nu Labour Socila Engineering Project and hopefully it will now stop....
I grew up on a council estate and know many many people who have 4,5 or even 6 kids and all bar none "Expect" to be housed and not "Hope" to be housed.....
As for the "extortianate cost of housing" Blame that my friend on the last two Governments who are to blame for 1/ Total lack of Social Housing, 2/ HPI which has led to overpriced private housing sector and 3/ Forcing people to invest in B2Let to fund retirement due to Gordon Brown raidng the pension funds....0 -
I don't think there are any hard and fast laws regarding how many children can share a room but most LA's have guidelines and social services have guidelines about what would be classed as inappropriate. I think most reputable landlords/agents would follow LA guidelines. Those who don't usually let out the type of houses one wouldn't want their children to live in anyway.'Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans'-John Lennon

Now that IS a new idea. Thank goodness it has never been a popular one as you would have very few people working to support your dotage.0 -

So you place emphasis on whatever financial circumstances the state allows or ensures you have over whether you can breed or not.
I see.All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -

hahaha @ the notion that you think you're radical. Especially in the bit that you expect the "grace of God" to look after you lmao. All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0
