Some people will try anything these days
How did they pay and how did you send it?
Quite possibly, I've heard of this too.
They paid by Paypal and it was sent 2nd class. They had the option of choosing recorded.
After this I think I am now going to switch EVERYTHING to recorded only

Wig wrote:#9 made a good point, how about looking at your pics for identifying marks, then asking for better pics of the damaged item. see if it is the same book.
Thanks, will do this as I have lots of very clear pics

Ah
If they put in a claim with Paypal, then they will be sure to win as you didn't send it with tracking.
Sending recorded or special is for your benefit, not the buyers, as it saves all the hassle when you end up in the position you're in now.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I'd mail them and tell them straight.
They will probably do a chargeback and will win, but you can leave them a big fat juicy neg explaining that they wanted to do a swap for their tatty old book.

Ha! yeah like the police are going to be bothered about my £9.99 ebay problem. I got mugged right around the corner form the police station about 18 months ago and despite having a broken wrist and a shattered cheek bone they treated me like a criminal! And I'm a 5ft woman!
Sorry, don't have a lot of faith in the police after that.0 -
You should report the crime and request a crime ref no. You have evidence of a crime, I wouldn't even think twice. I would also issue a complaint if the police took no action.
Can you post the pics please. Plus you can make a complaint about the way you were treated before by the police.0
