Jailbreaking of the iPad 3Gs is so simple even an android user could do it, I did my one hour after getting it using spirit jailbreak, don't worry about if it crashes etc or warranty because doing a total restore via itunes puts it back to factory conditions without any trace of the jailbreak. I have also been using it in the car as a satnav and it is fantastic. I originally got the iPad to try as I knew that if I didn't like it I would be able to resell it for no loss due to the shortage, but I will now definately keep it and after using it both my grown sons and she who must be obeyed have ordered one as well as a few at work. There will always be people who moan about it and do their best to slag it and the users down from the my toy is better than your toy brigade, but I suggest rather than listen to the petty arguments that will inevitably start here, you find someone who has one and try it and decide for yourself, you will either love it or hate it.
Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. Assert to her; let her guide you. Obey her as you know how; Surrender is so wonderful! For Caroline my Goddess.

Try the spirit jailbreak on your 3GS first, did a friends 3GS with spirit the other day and it took a total of 4 minutes. Great little tool that makes jailbreaking a breeze.

If you're not happy or it keeps crashing, plug it in and hit restore in itunes. Simple.

Having played with one.....I dont love it or hate it.

Its quite nice but definatly not magical or revolutionary
Its a bit heavy but no where near my full fat tablet.

It does pretty much what I expected it to but not one step more, no real surprise and delight.

Solid product but you know meh

Well it can't be revolutionary considering Hewlett Packard had the TC4200 in production half a decade ago.

why buy it if you arent happy with its limitations?
By a tablet PC without the limitations?

I wonder how many IPad buyers will be kicking themselves (and admit to it) when all the better pads come out later in the year.......the ones that will do everything the IPad can't and more.......

New iPads will be out in Spring 2011. They'll be slightly faster, possibly have more storage available, maybe have a webcam on the front, and maybe be a bit cheaper but unlikely.

I expect at that time you'll be here saying the exact same thing about the models coming out in 2012. I'll be here to yawn at you.

    :)
