Firstly what will it allow me to do and what will it restrict me from doing?
Also what one would you recommend? Same goes for the 3GS. I did it on my 3G but had to take it off as it kept crashing

It will allow you to install software that Steve Jobs has decided you can't. It'll allow you to install pirated software.0

Is it worth doing? The only thing I'm worried about is ending up with a £700 digital clock.also how easy is it? I've seen a few on google but don't know what one to go withI would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

Don't worry about ending up with a £700 digital clock. You could end up with a £700 non-digital brick.
More an oversized digital paperweight - It's not strong enough to use as a brick!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
I take it you are not fans then.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

With the idea of jailbreaking an iPad - No. It's not tried and tested enough yet. Give it some time.
With the iPad itself - I think it looks ok, but when they bring out a new version next year, I hope it has a front facing camera and GPS as standard.
With the iPhone - I'm looking forward to seeing the new one.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
The questions you need to ask yourself are
Why do I want one?
What do I want it to do?
Can I afford one?
If you have only seen them on google go and play with one if you can.
They are very nice, but I personally cannot think of a reason to buy one.0 -
You can do a hell of a lot more with a Windows mobile device, Apple design their devices for people who are only capable of using one hand.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

Well...
You can only install software which Steve Jobs approves and even then, you can only get it from one place.
You can't install Flash because Steve Jobs doesn't like it so many websites don't work.
You can only use one application at a time - it doesn't do multitasking
Wifi is dodgy
You can buy a keyboard for it (but only from Apple) which then turns it into a laptop and a very expensive underpowered one.
What ever gives you the idea we don't like it?0 -

OS4 is about to be released and that includes multitasking. Unfortunately, it also allows the app suppliers to put adverts in their apps too!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
