Still trawling through my credit report trying to get it looking a bit neater and accurate. Corrections to be done have been reported to CreditExpert.

    Corrections done:
    • British Gas now have the correct date of birth
    Corrections outstanding:
    • My employers credit check has added a wrong alias (Mrs + maiden name - no idea where they got that from!)
    • Ex-husband showing as financial link - notice of disassociation sent to CreditExpert
    • Electoral role for current address - I have sent the form to the council but it has not yet been updated on the credit report
    • Shop Direct still showing previous address - I gave them new address on 1st June but not changed on credit report yet
    • Number of linked addresses (see below)
As of this morning, I have 116  linked addresses!
Sent email requesting some to be removed.
8 - over 6 years and no open accounts with the companies
36 - never had open accounts with the companies
8 - an address I have never lived at (I lived in a flat above a shop, but they have put the address of the shop)
plus 30 where the town is spelt wrong

I'm sure I've read that the number of linked addresses doesn't make a difference to a credit score, but the more there are, the harder it is to manage and check them myself. I've proved that today as I only found the address I haven't lived at after copying the data to excel and sorting it... I'd completely missed it by just reading through them.

I've not yet mentioned to CreditExpert about Severn Trent removing the CCJ as I am still to receive the letter from them confirming what exactly is happening about that. Once that is gone, I will still have a default, but this will expire in Oct 2013 and from then on (fingers crossed) I will have a perfect credit file :D

As I have said before, for every up there is a down...

CCJ being dropped = HAPPY :j
Message from buyer = ANGRY / FRUSTRATED / MISBERABLE :(

My ex, whose name is still on the deeds, refused to send the solicitor proof of ID and address. Without this, the house sale cannot proceed. I passed on his mums number (believe me I know how childish that sounds*) to the buyer, but he has been unable to get in contact with her, to get in contact with him (if that makes sense?).

I'm still not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It's a bad thing because I was this close to getting shut of the house. But it's a good thing because if I can't sell it to him, I should be able to rent it out myself, use the rent to pay the mortgage, hopefully remove the ex's name at some point in the future, and reap the benefits of profit if the house prices rise again. There is some work that needs doing before it can be rented out, but it is mainly decorating in all fairness, so I can do that myself or with the help of OH and dad.

I really thought I was going to cry when I got the message yesterday, but after thinking about it, I'm now just unsure how to proceed. I sent his mum a text message, and she replied that she would pass the number on, so it's just a waiting game on the outcome. (Did I mention I hate waiting?)

The thing that is upsetting me most about it all, is that I will have to pay both my rent for my current place, and the mortgage for the other house, all because he won't get a few documents sent off. I'm just getting myself sorted, and now I'm going to have to put my debt-busting on hold because I'll need the spare cash to pay the mortgage! It's so unfair (*wailing and stamping feet* :p)

    * See one of the previous posts for my rant about his immaturity :p

God your ex really is an idiot isn't he! Is it worth perhaps going to a solicitor and getting some professional advice or maybe getting them to send a letter?

Hope you manage to get it sorted, it must be so frustrating for you!

And an even bigger down... :(

OH has checked his bank this morning, but he has been paid at least £300 less than we were expecting. He's done loads of overtime, but it seems that they still haven't set up his tax code right so all that hard work was basically for nothing!

And I'm all upset because I know this means that we're not going to be able to afford this month. He's telling me not to worry about it, but I'm the one that's done the figures - I know how much is going out each month, and that's if we just stick to the budget, which we are rubbish at doing! :(

If ex had just done what was needed, we would be alright, but as I will have to pay the mortgage as well as our rent this month, we're not going to be able to do it. I worked out that we could do it on our budget if we both getting paid correctly, and that brought us down to about £20 spare at the end of the month. But with having such a deficit this month, there is no way and I don't know what to do! I can't even do what some people do, which is to put normal spending onto my credit card for a bit, as I only have a £700 limit, and it's got over £550 spent on it at the moment!

I'm going to have to get a second job, but OH is saying that I won't have to. He doesn't seem to understand that the figures just don't add up! We will have more going out this month than coming in! I always said I wouldn't do bar work or waitressing again, as I've done them in the past and hated it, but if that's what it takes to try to keep us afloat then that will have to happen. Might ask at the local Co-op to see if they have any evening or weekend jobs too, though OH definitely won't like me doing it as it will mean that we will have less free time together.

We found out why OH's wages were down - he hasn't been paid for his overtime, and also they have given him some dodgy tax code that I don't recognise, but basically means he's paying more tax. I've told him to ring the tax office about it.

I've been good this morning and brought HM sandwiches. Dad had loads of burger baps left from a BBQ on Sat, so we brought a load of them home to make food for this week :)

Feeling good after clearing another debt today - two down, six to go!

I've had a letter from Severn Trent saying that they will refund all costs associated with incorrect CCJ and to call the customer relations to arrange it. It references a letter from 16th June, but I have not received this. When I called up, they arranged to send the refund via cheque, so will be waiting for that to arrive. They also said that the letter I didn't get on 16th June is the one that confirms they will be contacting the court to remove the CCJ, so I asked them to resend that too.

Fingers crossed this should all be over and done with soon. Not sure how long it will take the courts to update the CRA's though.
