I have to say, the reason I was annoyed with my mum on Saturday was more the fact of the conversation I'd had with her earlier that day. She was quite nasty with me bacause I hadn't bought my nephew a present, and had made a cake instead. He was four yesterday, and I'm not being funny but he's not all there, and doesn't understand what a birthday is. The presents that his mother (my sister), and my mother had spent money on for him were just thrown to one side after 5 minutes - I don't have money to waste like that and mum knows it.
It was her being funny with me one minute, then asking me to do something for her the next that really got to me... but that's my mum for you... and my sister's just the same - didn't even acknowledge that I was there when she came in (as per usual), then after about 20mins the first thing she said to me was "my computers got about 100 things wrong with it, when can you come fix it for me?" I told her no, I'm going to start charging for the service - it shut her up and my mum gave me the most evil look ever - it felt so good though
Not a bad day overall though - I got to see my grandparents and my neice, nephews and little brother (hereafter referred to collectively as "the kids"). And at least my grandparents were impressed with the birthday cake and the fairy cakes I took round
I took them a weetabix cake too for them to have after the kids had all gone.
Started work on my black dress yesterday too. Got all the pieces cut out, and just got to sew them now, so that's a job for this evening.
Apologies that this post turned into a moan about certain members of my family! I just needed to vent a bit I think :A::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

I updated the addresses on CreditExpert the other day, so that they now have the addresses for me going back to 2003. Unfortunately, although now it is more accurate, it has now added my ex-husband as a financial association (separated in 2005, divorced in 2007) and the number of linked addresses has jumped from a quite bad 60 to a shocking 95! I've sent emails to CreditExpert so hopefully someone there will help to tidy this up. Would be nice to see it all in order instead of the mess it is at the minute
I've got til 2013 before my CCJ and default drop off it, by which time most of my other bad history will have gone too, from when I was young and stupid. I'll just have to stay put for the next 6 years (not as easy as it sounds - I've moved 6 times in as many years! I'm a bit of a nomad) and keep a squeaky clean credit history... easy as pie... mmmmm pie...
Actions for tonight:
- Write complaint letter to Severn Trent
- Sew dress together and try on / make adjustments
- Make cake for OH to take to work tomorrow
- Take dish and sunglasses back round to stepmum
- Make up lunch for tomorrow
And if I have time... play some WoW...::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

Well done for standing up to your family, I can quite understand why you would get annoyed. It's your thread so if you want to vent, then have a vent!
I re-signed up to credit expert the other day, and somehow managed to put my address in twice, then when I looked at it, all my debts were duplicated so it looked like I had twice as much :eek:. They were pretty good about sorting it out though, so hopefully they won't take too long with yours. I was really suprised about how many credit checks I've had over the last year considering I've applied for no credit other than the mortgage though!
Good luck with the dressmaking, I'm about to sit down and put my nose in a book!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

How on earth did you manage that?Glad you got it sorted though. Hopefully they will get rid of the tie between me and my ex pretty quick soon too.

Woke up this morning after a horrible dream - I think this board is getting to me. I dreamt that I had a CCJ for £5 because someone complained about one of my posts on here, and another for over £20k that I didn't know what it was for and was panicking about, but no one would help me on here because of the other CCJ. It was that real that I had to check my credit report when I woke up this morning, and check on here to make sure that I hadn't done something in the night! :rotfl:
Yesterdays plans:
- Write complaint letter to Severn Trent
- Sew dress together and try on / make adjustments
[STRIKE]- Make cake for OH to take to work tomorrow[/STRIKE]
- Take dish and sunglasses back round to stepmum
- Make up lunch for tomorrow
And if I have time... [STRIKE]play some WoW[/STRIKE]...
:rotfl: Even when I make lists of what I need to do, I still don't do them lol. Though I did ring Virgin Media about my broadband connection. It keeps cutting off from about 9pm, which is not good when I'm in the middle of a dungeon or something. Got cut off 3 times last night between 9pm and 10pm! And this was after doing what the guy on the phone suggested, so I was not a happy bunny... and will be telling them so again tonight.
If I'm not busy at work today, I can get the complaint letter done I suppose, but it's going to have to be either a "buy lunch" day or a "go hungry" day, as I just didn't get round to doing anything last night, and got up late today so didn't have time to do it this morning either.::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

When I did it the first time, I got knocked out and when I went back in it wasn't showing, so I re-entered the details, but it must have been in there somehow! It looks better now though.
I hope they are as quick to sort out your issues too. They were pretty good."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
After reading through some of the "£40 to feed a family for a month" and "Sneaky ways to save the pennies" threads, I've decided that it might be a good idea to invest in a slow cooker. I've seen a Cookworks 3.5L one for £11.69 at Argos, so might see if OH will take me there before we go home.
I'm also going to see about setting up a meal plan for at least 3 weeks, if not 5, and making more stuff in batches and freezing. Hopefully can cut the spending down to £50 a month for food, which would be a really nice saving - we currently budget for £120 a month on food. I'm also going to suggest that we try buying whole milk and watering it down, as we drink semi-skimmed anyway, so might make it go a bit further. It's one of the things suggested on those threads, but will have to try it to see if we can adapt to it.
Only bought the set meal at lunch today, which cost £2.45, and did well to resist the temptations of the vending machine. Thank god we get free drinks::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

LOL about your dream last night, I keep having weird ones at the moment, but not about this site :rotfl:
I've got a slow cooker, they are great! (Although I don't advise having it on when you are at home all day otherwise you get too hungry) It's really nice coming home to a meal which just needs to be served, or you just need to cook a quick side.
Have you seen Weezl's thread on here about feeding a family of 4 for £100 https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2384579? They have produced a fab website http://www.cheap-family-recipes.org.uk/ and there are some really nice looking recipes on there."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Oh it seems to have been a while since I posted... nearly a whole week!
It's been a busy weekend:
Friday
- Went to my friends birthday meal at a mexican restaurant. Was absolutely gorgeous food, but me and OH spent nearly £50 between us
- My black dress was a hit, with 4 of my friends wanting to learn how to make one / asking me to make them one  My step mum has also asked me to make one, though she wants one more in the colours of my first dress because it's more summery. I'm also going to try making my little neice a similar dress, but better secured as 2 year olds tend to be a lot more active and less caring than adults
Saturday
- Walked into town to save on petrol / parking
- OH applied for a new account for the bill payments to come out of
- I filled in the application form for a Co-op Cashminder which will be my spending account and got my documents signed at the branch
- Spent £20 on a game for the Wii - "Just Dance". A bit naughty I know, but it's really fun and good exercise too
- Made chocolate fairy cakes with my oldest nephew
- Volunteered to make the birthday cake for the party we're going to next weekend too. It's going to be three-tiered and covered in chocolate icing.
- Dad and OH made a start on getting the back garden sorted
Sunday
- Went to dads and helped stepmum looking after the nephews and niece while Dad and OH continued on our back garden. I now have a finished wall! Will have to post a piccie when it's all finished.
- Decided that we need to go on holiday and that we will be going with Dad and stepmum to the south of Spain in August. This means that we need to get OH a passport, which he's not had since he was 15, and we will need to save at least £600 for the actual holiday itself. I have my fingers crossed that we can do it in such short notice! :j _party_ HAPPY DANCE!! _party_ :j
For those of you who have been following this diary, I have seriously good news!
I've just finished a phone call to Severn Trent, who have admitted that the whole thing was their mistake! They are going to contact the courts to get my CCJ removed from my file, and refund me all the court costs incurred!
/me dances again
I can't believe it to be honest! They have said that I should receive a letter in the next 5 working days that explains what they are doing. I suppose I should try to get some extra for the stress they have caused, but to be fair, I'm just over the moon that I'm getting rid of the CCJ::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~
