But you're happy to pay if nothing goes wrong with it? (which is what you're doing with all that depreciation).
Yeah i'm fine with that
I just don't want to risk it if anything does go wrong
(I swear to god i'm gonna get that phrase tattooed on my forehead)
What is so wrong and hard to understand about that???!Future Mrs Gerard Butler

I bought my current car for around £9000. So far i've only paid off £4482
I'm sure i don't need to do the maths for you. I'm not going to make any money selling the car
Let along a grand!
Me selling it privately would be no different than giving it back to the dealer
I won't make anything and i won't lose anything
I really don't know how many more times I need to say it!!!
OK i obviously worded my questions incorrectly
But after my first few posts it was pretty obvious what i was asking
What NEW car for under £10,000
It ain't rocket science!!
It ain't rocket science but still don't get it do you.
You have a car worth circa £5k privately and £5k of oustanding finance. The garage will not give you £5k for your car they will give you £4k and add £1k to the cost of your next car to settle the oustanding finance.
So swap your car at the garage and your new £10k car will cost you £11k or
sell your car privately, settle the finance and buy your new car for £10k.0 -

No JQ you are the one still not getting it!!
I give the car back owing nothing!!
Not a single penny
5k finance left, they take the car and the finance is settled
No outstanding amount is added to my next car
I've done the same thing on my last 3 cars
The reason i keep going back to the same place!!
Understand now?Future Mrs Gerard Butler

There was a thread on here recently about how closely the advertised mpg on cars tallied with the actual mpg people were getting. that might be worth reading for you.
I was recently looking for a new car and bought the top gear car magazine (approx £5) that does comparisons of all cars and rates them. As it happened I didn't buy any of the cars on my short list and went for one that wasn't on there as I thought it was too dear!If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
No worries, why don't you go the garage tomorrow and hand back your car without buying a new one and see if they don't ask you for any cash.0

So instead of maybe having to spend a couple of hundred quid on repairs (my 130,000 mile 04 plate Mondeo has only needed £200 worth in 3 years) you'd rather waste £1000's on depreciation?
Seems an odd way to keep motoring costs low.
I like the trouble free motoring of a new car.
I don't need to go out in the morning to go to work & find my car won't start. I have to do a littole travelling in my job & I need a reliable car.
For me reliability is worth the preimum.0 -

Completely irrelevant because I'm not planning on taking the car back and walking away with nothing!
As long as i get another car from them i get the same deal
Why is that so hard for you to understand??!!I like the trouble free motoring of a new car.

My car is 2.5 years old, so far only had to change the wipers:D0 -

So if it does go wrong, it will not be covered by warranty after it's first service interval has passed, even if it is a " new " car.0
