No No No, it's not, it's just that you have the answer before you posted.
If you ask which is the most economical car?,
Or, which is the most fuel efficient one etc, you will get the real time answer, if you want to know what will be the cheapest over a period of time.listen to the advice.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Ok how about can you please enlighten me as to which car (not including my own!!) is the most fuel efficient and not too expensive to buy right now?
I don't want an older car (i do get what people are saying but it still doesn't change the fact i don't want/can't afford if anything went wrong with it to run an older car)
Even if you just tell me it's a bloody Ford Fiesta I'll be happy!Future Mrs Gerard Butler

I guess the reason you're getting so much grief is because you are asking for advice on how to save money, yet what you actually want to do is waste a fortune. This is a money saving site and that's what people try to advise on.
Other than the ST, I'm not aware they make a Fiesta with an engine that is not efficient - it's most inefficient engine is the petrol 1.6 doing 43mpg, which is pretty good. So doing 7,500 miles a year buying a diesel car that achieves 60mpg you'll save yourself £340 per year.
You plan to part-ex your current car with a short MOT for a new car of around £10,000, so you'll lose say £500-£1,000 by part-ex'ing and lose say £4,500 over the next 3 years in depreciation on the new car.
So the plan is to spend circa £5,500 over the next 3 years to save yourself £3,000 (£1k fuel saving and £2k depreciation on your current car.)
I think the best plan would be to restate your question: I'm bored of my current car and want something new and shiny and then list your requirements for the new car, because what you are proposing has nothing to do with saving money. People will still help you pick a car - there lots of experts on here. Just tell us what you want.
ps - in answer to your question, the cheapest car for you to run is your current one !0 -

LOL I've got a headache
I don't plan on part exchanging my car. I don't own it (I still owe money to the finance company) to part exchange it
I take it to the dealer i always buy my cars from
Whats left to pay on it is written off so to speak. They take the car and
I start again with a new one. Owing nothing
I'm not sure which part of that i will be losing money on?
I didn't hand over any cash for the fiesta when i first bought it
Yes i have monthly payments but like i said earlier i don't see that as throwing money away because i have a new car to show for it
I need a drink
Is a diesel cheaper to run?
Edit
I do want to save money!!

Yes, but don't forget cheap motoring is not about fuel consumption, unless you're doing 30,000 miles a year - as a student I'm guessing your not. It's about insurance costs, depreciation, parts and servicing costs, which will add up to a far greater cost per year than any fuel savings.
Best bet is to buy a copy of Whatcar magazine (£4 something at all good newsagents and convenience stores) as they have all the above stats for every car in production in an easy to read table at the back of the magazine - much more user friendly than the website. Then just cross-refernce all the info.0 -
Don't forget your Holiday Fund, (that is at £0 according to your signature).
The more this car costs each month the less money you'll have to put into your holiday fund......0
