And taking out insurance online seems to be no proof either. I was fully insured, about 6 months into the policy, when I was pulled out of the outer lane of the MI by an anpr jam sandwich. 1/2 hour of interogation before they accepted that I actually was insured.:mad:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
  • It should be for our justice system to prove guilt, and not for the public to demonstrate their innocence.

It should be. However, as we all know, this isn't so when you get behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Well if you paid by Visa, ask your bank to carry out a chargeback procedure. As long as you can persuade them to do so, you should be able to get the money back fairly quickly. I'd also tell the met that this is what you're going to do if they continue in this lackadaisical manner.

If you haven't heard anything why don't you persue them via the small claims court?

The police were a car isnt on the MID will phone insurers if necessary for confirmation; Why did this not happen and save this?

Err not quite. I was stopped on the M25 for the same thing, 3.30pm on a sunday afternoon. Yes the car was insured, on a 2 car policy to be precise. I never keep any documents in the car.
The traffic officer asked me a couple of questions about the policy and then gave me a HORT1 and I ws on my way back to wales. I did suggest phoning the insurance company and he said there'd be no point as there probably wouldn't be able to speak to anyone that could confirm the details as it was a sunday afternoon.

So the phonecall sometimes doesn't work I'm afraid

When you're dealing with a public body rather than a Company it's not quite a simple as firing off a claim online unfortunately.

SCC will not work against the met. Or so I've been told.

It's been exactly 1 month since I've heard anything from them. I waited for the first month to roll over just so I could point this out. I'm in the process of writing out the second letter, with a dead line and I'll post it here tonight and see what you guys think. (hoping to post it first thing tomorrow. - Is there anyway to claim back the money I spent on Recorded Deliveries, and phone calls?)

Yeah just include them in the letter. I'd try for £100 compensation tbh for all the hassle its taken you. Give Citizens Advice a call as well maybe. Threaten court within 14 days if no resolution.

Henry, would you be able to help me make it look "professional" I have problems with writing stuff to officals, as it always looks... noobish.
