Its certainly a comprehensive letter but in my opinion probably a bit long. I think the main points get a bit lost in amongst the other less important factors. I think the letter could be made more concise but its up to you, it will probably be ok as it is.

Point taken, but then again, I wouldn't know what to change/get rid off. See above ^^

For example, I didn't mention wanting a refund right untill the last line. After checking the start of the letter, I couldn't figure out a place of wirting that in. You know, things like this I need help with.

Marv, as you are finding it difficult to get volunteer help with your letter, perhaps you need to consider paying someone, like a solicitor.

I don't think the OP is being untruthful but I'm wondering if there's more to the story as the usual process is to give the driver a 7 day producer if it's simply a case of not being on MID.

I was once in a situation of not being on MID nearly a week after changing my car details on my insurance. The officer asked me who my insurance was with, the reg of my previous car but he didn't even make a call to check, just said I didn't look like the sort of person to not have insurance and gave me a 7 day producer and I sorted it the next day.

Wanna' be my solicitor for £20? Help me correct the letter, and if I'm successful in getting a refund, I'll send £20 your way, via paypal perhaps. :cool2:

I'm not sure fella, but the officer did not suggest anything like that, nor did I know anything like that was possible, seen as I've never been in a situation for not having insurance. Hell, I havn't carried the documents around on me for 10 years, never seen the need. (not in this case seen as I've never recived them to begin with.)

Does anyone know how much a solicitor would cost? £20 perhaps? :D

Letters are actually quite easy to write. People do not need solicitors where they are sure of their facts and the legality of their argument. Sadly a response is oft generated by the respondee based on their perception of the intelligence of the intitiator of the letter.

The secret is to keep it short, to the point, make sure you list all the salient points, ensuring no detail in the letter can be used against you or misconstrued in any way.

Shorter is better, lengthy and meandering letters are difficult to understand and often leave loopholes the respondee can exploit.

Provide the background, your complaint, then a summation along with detail of what recompense you expect to recieve

Alright well, I'll turn around and read through it and try to rewrite as much as possible as short as possible. I'll post it back here in an hour or two. Any tips or suggestions you could make on what not to rewrite, or what I could shorten?
