Free sky HD

I was put onto this by a local tv shop.
Basically I rang sky to cancel the sports channels for the summer ( I have the full package and sky +)
Initially she offered me free sports for 6 months.Great I thought but then I mentioned I was thinking of going to HD when the football season starts again and would it be a problem.
I was then offered a free HD box, free installation AND no monthly charges for the 1st 6 months if I kept the sports channels for the next year.
Good offer or what
Thanks for this. I think all the other posters, in their haste to attack Sky, are missing the main point. The main point is that you are getting Sky Sports for free for 6 months, which all these people on Freesat (too tight to pay for the footy) are missing out on. No doubt they think it makes more sense to go and spend £30 down the boozer when the footy's on than get Sky Sports.
For all the criticism of Sky on here, I must say that what they've done with the football has been superb. Far better than the once in a blue moon we used to get on ITV before the advent of the Premier League.
Those of you that hate Sky, don't pay for it, those prepared to pay look out for deals, like the one by the OP, that are better than paying full price.0 -

There are of course those who don't go down the boozer and spend £30 (£30 - what on earth are they buying?!) but go to grounds to actually watch the football.
The football authorities have sold their collective souls to the devil - but that is a different issue:cool:0 -

.
That is why so many clubs are now in financial difficulties, only Sky make any any money out of footy, even if some mugs think they are getting it free.0 -
"The free HD box, along with free installation has applied to existing customers for months (you don't have to threaten them with leaving, just tell them you want it and you get it)."
No it is`nt, i heard about the deal, rang up and was told it was only for certain people  I was`nt one of them !!
They said i could have it if i paid for installation , but why should i when others getting it free !!0 -

If you select the self install option then there is no set-up cost.
If you have Sky+ all this means basically is swapping the boxes.
So existing customers can have it for "free"0
