Free sky HD

The free HD box, along with free installation has applied to existing customers for months (you don't have to threaten them with leaving, just tell them you want it and you get it).I was then offered a free HD box, free installation AND no monthly charges for the 1st 6 months if I kept the sports channels for the next year.
Good offer or what
As for the 6 months "free", that has been pretty much "de facto" standard for anybody saying they are leaving the Murdoch empire.
So I'd say no, it isn't anything special in the way of deals at all - especially as they now have your signature for another 12 months of overpriced monthly repeats.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

Don't forget Luxe TV is HD, available on freesat boxes on the non freesat mode.0

OP, 2 months Sky subs at £53 is more than the cost of a Humax Foxsat HD Freesat box. 4 months subs will cover cost of a dish and install if you don't already have them (which all current Sky subscribers will anyway). So by going to Freesat you are simply spending a little more upfront to save a fortune in the long term.
Your point about 'buying a dish/new TV' is hardly relevant-I'm not aware that Sky are handing out free TV's in order to retain customers. For most people the only cost is the one-off price of the Freesat box.No free lunch, and no free laptop

To be fair to the OP - on Freesat you get very little HD, especially if it is sports you are interested in (World Cup aside)
However to get more HD, from Sky, it costs a fair whack.0 -
So what is so great about 2 channels? Nothing.wow you are quick, isnt it what I said, I did happen to mention it twice
I say it again
1. bbc hd and 2. itv hd)
We get two channels and all free. You pay for box but after that its all free
You can easily recoup money back in no time its really no brainer
A 'no brainer' as you say would be getting all HD which is never going to happen on freeview.0 -
As a side issue, away from the confrontation, a mate of mine works for Sky and gave me a unique code for half-price sky. Now he only had 3 to give away, apparently that's what each employee gets, and you have to order by 10th June, but this is what I got - I'm sure you'll all tell me quickly whether it's a good deal or not:
Sky+ HD - all channels
Multi-room
Phone line rental
Wireless Broadband up to 8MB
Free installation
Free weekend calls and evening calls
£60.25 per month.
Seemed pretty good for me so I signed up.
Not sure how much use it is, other than to say if you know someone who works for Sky they'll be able to get you the deal.0
