My parents: Have same landline deal (as they already had all the TV).
Both have mobiles, my mum uses hers loads as she doesn't really care about the cost (my mum is terrible and will pay £1 for a crossword answer - though to be fair, she now phones me to look up the answers on the internet for free as I kept moaning at her for wasting so much money)!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
I've got BT's top package which includes daytime calls at no additional cost, so I use my landline whenever possible.:j I'm not supposed to be normal, I'm supposed to be me:j:dance: Quidco cash back since May 2010 ~ more than £83.13
Must remember to use it more, but every little helps0 -
I haven't got any friends and my family don't speak to me. :jApparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

I have no signal for my mobile at home (Orange) though my wife does (Vodafone). Consequently I use the landline at home and dislike calling people's mobiles as it costs. We have an unlimited anytime tariff with the landline so all calls are free. I will not call 0844, 0906 etc on my landline or on my mobile. Why are more and more companies only publishing 0871, 0844 numbers? Money making??0

I just voted and the page didn't load so I couldn't see the results
I voted 75% landline / 25% mobile but I always use the landline to ring parents (either set OH incuded) or I use it to ring my grandmother.
and any other bits and bobs that come along.Don't forget you can donate 24 Felix tokens to help feed a cats protection cat/kitten that's in care
their are loads of cats/kittens awaiting there forever home
don't forget the the oldies who are just as much fun
Dropping a brand going greatthanks Martin and team

I went for
G. Call about 75% on my landline and 25% on my mobile
but I'm not 100% certain as to how accurate that is, as I don't actually make all that many calls !!!!
I always use my mobile for calling other mobiles (whatever the day or time of day), and for calling geographic landlines during 'day time' hours Monday through Friday (apart from calling my daughter, as we're with the same company for landlines and get free calls between us 24/7). I also use my landline for calling our local council, as it appears they must also be with the same operator (noticed a couple of calls I'd made to them without thinking about which phone to use showed a zero charge). And if I need to call someone who has a non-geographic number (other than an 0800) I try to find an alterative for them, then (if successful) use my mobile to call that number.
I still don't come close to using up my included minutes on my mobile contract though.
I use my landline during the day for non-geographics I can't find an alternative for, and for 0800 numbers. Then I use it during my 'free' hours for any geographic landlines (primarily my parents and my OH) or included '08' numbers (such as Tax Credits). My latest bill (just in) has a zero charge for phone callsTaff_major wrote: »It would be very interesting to see how these results vary by the age of the respondent. But a lot of 0800 numbers have geographic alternative - my car breakdown company actually publish it (I'm positive it's even printed on my windscreen sticker) so that people using mobiles have it available and can save money when calling :TCheryl0 -
Age??? As a 65 yr old I use mobile during the day and landline after 7pm. Works out the cheapest way also for 0845 and 0870 numbers I use the landline - cheaper than the mobile. Is it age or common sense that determines our usage?0

If I'm at home I use my mobile to call a mobile but call landlines from my landline using the BT anytime callplan which is a bargain for heavy phone users. It even gives you free 0870 and 0845 calls.
(but the sneaky companies are rapidly moving to 0844 and 0871 which still cost premium rates)
I use 18185 for international calls if I can't use SkypeH for me.
Almost always use my landline for calls.
We have an anytime call option and if we are calling a mobile then I use my work mobile which has lots of minutes.0 -
Shame there wasn't an option for can't use my mobile at home because there's no signal - I'd have voted for that one:D0
