so you have to wear a tie to look nice do you strange?
dont forget it is summer too!
Also what does glamorous mean talk about pressure?

I prefer to wear a dress to look nice!!

Glamorous could even be wearing a plain black dress and some sparkly costume jewelry or a fake fur coat (think 50’s film star daaarling!!)

yes, it is summer but as another poster has said, you can always take the tie off later in the evening!
at the weekend I went to the cinema with friends to see the new sex and the city film - the girl who organised it said 'wear the hell what you want so long as you wear sexy shoes!!' Obviously we all could have said ‘its only the cinema, why bother?!’ but its all about getting dressed up and having a bit of fun!! - if you dont like it dont go!!

Maybe in your circles. Or evidently not as the invite shows. You clearly don't know how to dress for an occasion, unless you are dictating the terms. But as others have said, if you don't want to respect your host's wishes, don't sully their evening with your presence.

fake fur coat no thanks dont even own one.

wouldnt be seen dead in one.

I understand a bit of fun with the shoes maybe but having a dress code for a garden party seems over the top and showing off.

I think if it's a 'do' where the hosts have put in a big effort to throw a great party then just dress up and go - I wouldn't mind the opportunity to get glammed up so someone else could entertain, feed and water me!!

If it's a BBQ or a buffet of soggy quiche and a few breadsticks then it does have a slight Hyacinth Bucket whiff about it.

If you don't want to 'join in' then just don't go - fairly easy!

I do know how to dress thanks. Surely people should be glad you have come without resorting to stipulation. Its snobby and reserved.:p

Its a birthday party in a garden of a house for christs its not a wedding or a dinner dance you dont have a clue.

Whose to say i would sully the evening with my prescence they might sully mine with the restrictions.

These are the same people who had a christening for their first child and didnt invite any children adults only another garden party.

A football shirt and scraggy leggings is hardly garden party wear. Which I'm sure is what you're laying about in now. But considering that you are clearly someone who thinks taking pride in your appearance is 'showing off' then we obviously have nothing in common. Which incidentally, you are.

You are pathetic. Do you need to ask the internet to give you permission every time you make any decision, even though you've already secretly made up your mind?

I sincerely, truly, hope you friend read this, realise who you are, and never contact you again you miserable individual.
