  • Our neighbour filled up today, 900L quoted to us by the oilman at £285 - doesn't look like the price is moving?

£275 http://www.lccoil.com/. £285 but they give a £10 discount. Then phone Maxoldirect, tell them quote price from LCC and they will usually beat this price.

Does the board think its bottomed out...or is there more to come?
  • I would like to wait until it comes down to 250, but I am afraid that the winter hike will happen before then, and 270 will be the best. I hope I am wrong! We are going to have to order soon.

Watch the daily live price of a barrell of oil, currently around $58-$59.

If its on the way up or down over a period of 1-2 weeks. This should help to determine the price of your heating oil in NI in a month or so.
  • Be wary of HAYES ....i ordered oil from them ...not for the first time and told the girl on the phone i would post a cheque in to them on receipt of the invoice from delivery man...when they knocked door after putting oil in the tank the delivery guy nearly hyperventilated when hubby told him wife would post cheque in. in fact he proceeded down our garden to remove oil from the tank....in fact i had cheque book for joint account with me....i have never had any problem like this before........whats going on ???????

At the minute the prices are so competitive that the companies can not afford to offer credit and they need to ensure payment .. the old 'the cheque is in the post' excuse does not pay bills (too many people have tried that one).

  • Just a warning for anyone ordering online from lccoil.com - I filled in their web form yesterday afternoon, and received my delivery this afternoon. Unfortunately accompanying the delivery docket from a supplier based near Lisburn, was a copy of a fax that must have been sent to the supplier with my order. The fax contained an email from sales@lccoil.com with my order details, that had been sent to "Kelley" (Kelley@lissancc.com), copied to orders2@lccoil.com. "Kelley" then sent the email to kanecoal@swiftsoft.net, who (I think) sent the fax. Whilst this is a bit of a roundabout way of getting from Cookstown to Lisburn, I wasn't too bothered, until I read the complete fax, and there, in plain text, was my address (obviously), credit card type, number, and CV2 code. I guess these folks don't know how internet email works, but god knows how many servers this mail has been thru, each of which will contain a log of the email. I've already phoned my credit card company and cancelled the card, and LCC will be getting a good bo**ocking in the morning.

Just saw this in Belfast Telegraph

    http://www.valueoils.com/Default.aspx

Seem to cover Belfast area but with plans to expand.

    Prices seem good.
Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
