i live in the middle of a terrace that has about 20 houses (so the hose has to go along the back of at least 10 houses ~approx 50m), i have had oil delivered by maxol direct and cheaperoil.com (nicholls) with no problems. about 4 years ago i temped for nicholl for a couple of weeks and they had just started to refuse to deliver oil through the house because every man and their dog was making claims (false claims, 90% of the time) for a new carpet because the oil man had put oil on the carpet. i doubt you will find any companies nowadays that will do it, and they will cite insurance reasons as the cause. but most companys have mini tankers with extra long hoses to deal with terraces, just tell them that when you order.

nope hose definately doesnt fit and they cant get a smaller tanker anywhere near the alley
  • CheaperOil.com just quoted me 326.00£ for 900L good thing I didn't order the other day! Sad when 326.00£'s looks good to me....

Managed to get £320 for a 900 fill today at Conners (pricematched Stephen Morris also £320) Pretty scary prices but its only twice a year for us, if this winter is as bad as predicted then its best to have it sorted sooner rather than later.

I rang around today - 10 companies - and the following quotes were the best by far:

    Bangor Fuels: £171 for 500L, £298 for 900L (02891477795)

Maxol direct : same for 500L; £300 for 900L (02890848586)- had to beat them down they started at £199 and £339!

Anybody got anything better? - I live in the Ards area

    Ta.
