No Buying Toiletries in June Challenge!

Can anyone recommend a good facial suncream in a small container? Mine is almost gone (Soltan kids
) and I really like having a small sun lotion to carry round for my face - so paranoid about wrinkly skin!
Btw, a confession (though not a buy!) -
I had to give in and open my new bottle of foundation (Clinique superbalanced) even though i really wanted to use up my tinted moisturisers. But after several weeks of using them, I had to finally admit they're just not good enough for work or going out - not enough coverage (even though I don't need that much?!), don't last well, and the colour is a bit wrong.
Ah well, I'm much happier now that I can use my old faithful againI'm not actually running away from the mirrors halfway through the day at work today :rotfl:
And i'll still use the tinted moisturisers at weekends etc when i'm just out and about sunbathing and stuff, as they're both SPF 25 (though I also use a separate sun cream anyway). And the darker one I might still mix with my foundation if i get more colour on my face...0 -
fixx: I had to bin a moisturiser last night too. I have a rather ancient (at least 2.5 year old) Olay Nature Fusion spf 15 moisturiser (they don't even have it on the Boots website anymore!) that I used yesterday and it really wasn't up to scratch. It made me realise why I stopped using it in the first place!
It made my face really oily, by the end of the day, I had two new spots (haven't had any in ages) and got quite red in the face from being out in the sun. Granted, my 'normal' facial moisturiser + spf 15 probably would've left me a bit pink from the amount of exposure I had yesterday, but it was ridiculous.
I slathered on grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, aloe vera and BS Carrot moisture cream last night before going to bed so that it would look non-lobstery this morning. Plus, the consistency wasn't the same as it used to be and it had turned yellow.
So it is now up in the great toiletries cloud up in the sky.March win: Fair Squared organic spa skincare set

I always use Clinique's City Block, its a bit pricey for a small tube but I tend to buy it from Boots with points.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
Soltan Face SPF 50 gets good reviews on Boots and it's currently BOGOF. I'm seriously tempted!March win: Fair Squared organic spa skincare set

Hurrah Hurrah HURRAH! The Avon Strawberry & Yogurt face mask has finally spluttered its last! WIBA? This is an odd one. I honestly can't fault it - it's supposed to be moisturising and it is, it smells lovely and for a small tube it's lasted for absolutely ages...but I wouldn't go back for another one as it's just nothing special. Also gone this evening is a Tresemme Thermal recovery intensive hair treatment - WIBA? Yep - had these before and for the price they are excellent. Leaves my hair feeling lovely and soft and calms some of the frizzies too. I now have another Avon mask - a Planet Spa one this time - and another Tresemme hair mask to go on to. Really looking forward to trying the Planet Spa mask as it smells gorgeous and my friend who's tried it says it's lush! One last U/U but only a teeny one - a sample sachet of Avon foundation. Can't remember what type - it was too dark anyway so I found it difficult to get a real impression of whether I rated it or not. I got three days use out of it anyhow!
Forgot to report a purchase by the way - over the weekend while we were in Cornwall I noticed that my mini Nivea deodorant was running low, so I popped into Boots and picked up a roll-on just in case the other one didn't last the whiole time we were away. I got a garnier minerals roll-on at the bargain price of 89p - used it a couple of times since and it seems pretty good.
With all this lovely weather we'll all be hammering the sun cream over the weekend. I'll dig out my sample size Clinique Superdefence moisturiser I think.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Another buy today, not doing that good this month, but it was for DD and she had run out of deep conditioning hair mask, which she really likes and suits her hair, bought for £1.79 in Superdrug for a medium sized jar.
On a plus point my next door neighbour came round to see if I still had any of my car boot stash from last year and bought 6 products for £3 (most of which cost me very little in the first place due to glitches) - so 6 products down and in profit at the end of the day, albeit not much:D0 -
Hi can I join in please? I lurked on the May challenge board, and inspired by the posts, I decided to try not to buy any more toiletries until I've used up all that I have, so I can reduce the clutter, and so far all I've bought in recent weeks is a pack of face wipes to replace an empty pack.
I have lots of shower gels, bath products, hand and body lotions/creams, plus 3 tubes of toothpaste, about 5 body sprays, 5-6 deodorants, facial scrub, 2 body oil sprays and enough soap to last a few months. At the moment I am down to my last bottle of conditioner (just started) and last 1 and a bit bottles of shampoo, after buying loads when they were on offer in Asda a while back. Down to my last jar of both face cream and night cream, but hoping they will last till the end of the month, might have to get some hairspray at some point, and I’m getting low on Corsodyl Daily mouthwash, that my dental hygienist says I must use, so that will have to be replaced soon, and will have to get some suntan lotion if the nice weather continues as I don’t have any, but hopefully I won’t have to buy anything else this month.
In the past couple of days I've finished off 2 shower gels, and a bottle of conditioner.

Welcome, Sue14!
Corsodyl Daily was on 2 for 1 offer at Tesco last week (yup, my dentist thinks like yours!), so see if it is still on (according to mysupermarket.co.uk it's on til the 08/06) and invest in a few as it's blummin' expensive, otherwise. Please call me 'Pickle'

Hi InaPickle, and thanks for the welcome. It is definitely expensive, I shopped around for it before I bought the one I have now and the cheapest I found it was £3.99, which was bad enough, but better than the almost £5 I'd seen it everywhere else, then a few weeks later I saw it advertised in Wilkinsons for about £2.99 so thought I would stock up, but they were out of stock of it, typical! I will definitely try Tesco while it's on offer thanks for the heads up! BTW have you tried the Corsodyl Daily toothpaste? My hygienist gave me a sample tube but I wouldn't buy it, it tastes disgusting, toothpaste is supposed to be minty not salty, lol!
Hugs

I was just going to post the same info Pickle - great minds and all that!
Do all the Dentists in the country have shares in the stuff or what?
Hubby went to Mr T last night with my hastily scribbled list. He came back with everything neatly crossed out and in the bags except for where I had written Corsadyl BOGOF
"That" he said "is not even a word, let alone an item you can buy in supermarkets across the land!"
"That" I said "is the stuff you sloosh round your gob every morning of your life my darling, and it costs a bomb. How have we been MSE-ers all this time and you don't recognise the wifely squiggle that means Buy One Get One Free?!"
Men - bless 'em!
Still haven't documented the stash - but haven't bought anything either - not even Hubby's mouthwash! :rotfl:Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. Einstein0
