    Morning All

DS was desolate that his other 40 odd aunties didn't appear, but OH was grateful as it might have bust the budget a tad.
DS is off abroad now for 3 months so I should savea fortune in food and electricity as he is the main user, computors, phones, amps, TVs etc etc. But I will miss him madly and will now be doing the Mummy Worrywort for a while............comes with the territory.

Moneypenny, I know a lot of sporty types, some of whom have never found the special other half, might send a few down for your inspection.............

Don't think it will be a NSD for me to-day, but we'll see, the aliens have trained me quite well now and I have definitely ceasd most of my frittering ways (and I was very very good at frittering!!), got to go and deal with a few small businessmen (its what I do), and sort them out, no strangling allowed, it can be quite a strain sometimes!!!!

We did have some good news this weekend, our little car passed her MOT without needing anything doing, so DH put her in for a full service for all the things an MOT doesn't check (I didn't realise so much was ignored in an MOT) and it cost nearly £160  but she's had new plugs, points, filters and so many other things that DH thinks are worth having done to make her ready for the hols and we have a car budget so not a huge problem.

My car's due her service and MOT at the end of July. I always book her in for both at the same time, but I believe the garage give her a quick once over (for major MOT problems) before doing the service - even though they don't officially do the MOT until after the service, as change of plugs, filters, oil etc can give a more pleasing result on the emissions test.

And insurance is due 1st August - its an expensive time of year for me with regards to the car

I did get a 6 months road tax at one point to move that from end July to end January in order to spread the cost....... it's just that my breakdown cover renews on 23rd Jan, so I still have 2 car bills in 8 days then :o

My company don't use Quidco, but it's only £69.50/year for call-out, recovery and home start - which I don't think is bad. (Their prices haven't gone up for 4 or 5 years)

If I want to extend it to any driver in my car (currently only valid if I'm in the vehicle) or me in any car (whether driver or not, currently only covered for my car) it goes up to pennies under £100 - but I don't need that level of cover any more as I'm now a one car/one driver household, so dropped it at renewal last year.

    Thanks for the welcome spoon.

Well here goes - going for my NSD no 1 today - I have brought my lunch in with me to work from leftovers, already got enough food for tea later, so I really shouldn't need to spend anything today.

Right, declaring today as NSD no 4...got loads to do, with work later this afternoon/evening..so no time to spend!!

Will probably be spending tomorrow though...how come our food keeps diappearing...:(...just wish people would stop eating it!

Thanks for the kind words Herby....DH is taking the cheque in today...still can't quite believe it! I can sympathise re car costs...my old banger sailed through its MOT this year, but DH's mini had to have over £400 work done .

Right, off to get some of this big load of work done!

    Have a good day folks.

Has anyone here costed - Street car membership and car hire versus actually owning one.
Since I moved so close to work my car stays still the whole week or even longer.
It seems a criminal waste to have it sitting there taxed and insured. And it is getting very old - HReg. I only paid £500 for it when I bought it about 4 years ago.

Good morning all! Hooray! thanks to Spoon's instructions Ive managed to post my first photo. :jThis is the finished cardi - my first "big" knitting project. Started a baby cardi yesterday, so clicking away slow but sure.No gardening yesterday, but no spends either!
Today I had a little food shopping to do, got a nice bonus in Ffoods -they were GIVING AWAY bread and rolls (still in date) as they had overstocked at the weekend. I was delighted to help them out by storing a load in my freezer:rotfl:Also their milk is cheap, cheap cheap! Tonight Im off to see SATC2 with my sis and my nieces - cant wait! So its a little spend for me today, but an enjoyable one!
    Have a lovely day all!:)
