OMG can't believe i forgot to share my good fortune (remembered just as i pressed submit!!)
Got a letter today telling me i have been compensated £100 for the bank drama last week :j :j
That more than made up for the hours i spent sorting it. Asked them to pay it straight to the card to help with my debtbusting :AFebruary NSD challenge 5/150 -
Picked up the milk we needed on the way home from work - along with a tub of ice-cream to replace the one DS finished last weekend (he'll be less unhappy about fending for himself this weekend with that replaced, so slightly ulterior motives in that purchase
) Total spend in A!di = £3.17 (plus 3 pennies for my sealed pot, so £3.20 gone from grocery budget)
Also picked up some Whoopsies before leaving work.....
5 Nut Roast packet mixes (35p each instead of £1.29) : I love this with a spicy red pepper sauce (need to find a recipe as I'd like to try making from scratch rather than using a ready-made one), though DS won't be impressed so may not get many used before September
and
3 packs of 10 individual 14g cartons of Evap milk (9p each instead of 49p) : can just about get away with this instead of proper cream in coffee - and don't much like coffee with milk
and
a pack of cooked and peeled mussels (49p instead of 96p) which is now in my freezer. I know DS won't touch these, but OH often uses them with pasta, sauce and cheese - so I figured useful to have in as I'm trying to get straight enough for him to come this way for a weekend in about 2 weeks
Spend in Mr M = £2.55 (£2.51 less 25p staff discount = £2.26, and 25p staff discount plus the 4 pennies into sealed pot)
From my 'anything else' budget I also picked up an item of underwear from B-and-M (£3.99 plus penny for pot), a pack of large envelopes and some sellotape from a local discount store (£1.98 plus two pennies for pot), and spent £1.40 on first class recorded to send off the paperwork for DS's Student Finance application (paperwork deadline is tomorrow to ensure payment for start of term). But it sounds like they may reject one of my 'proof of income' items and his application could be delayed anyway
The government don't send out P60s for taxable benefits, so all I have for my Widowed Parents Allowance is a proposed payment schedule - so I now need to try and contact Inland Revenue (a government body) for a 'Statement of Earnings for 2008-09 to send to Student Finance (who are clearly linked to government)
Why these places can't simply talk to each other using my NI Number totally defeats me, and drives me nuts !!!!!!!Cheryl0 -
Hello NSDers
Yesterday was number 13 , and today was not an NSD,
I think from next month I will not be counting my Direct Debits, monthly groceries and weekly oyster as spends.
I've spoken to most of the companies I have direct debits with and asked them If i can move my direct debits dates from being all over the month to just one or two dates. The only one that has refused so far is the Loan company because all their loans HAVE to be paid on the 1st of each month. So I will work around that date (the first)as everyone else is flexible, so most or all DDs will come out on the first. If any other company isnt flexible then I'll split the DDs into two dates, so here's to more NSDs in july...
Well done everyone.Directloan:Feb2011 - £4152.64

:hello: Evening all NSDers
Have made number 10.
I'm not counting the £8 I found in an old purse (knew there was a good reason to be untidy;)) as I put it in the bank and paid it off the card in the 100 day challenge cos the cards are one of the main reasons for the NSD's.
I know I have to spend tomorrow as there's a collection at work for a lady who's retiring so I am going to have to be hyperorganised so I can make sure I have everything I need to last me till the end of the month.
It usually all goes a bit wrong at this stage as it's payday tomorrow but will use the tricks like leaving cash and cards at home. I am determined to make it this month.
Thanks for all the encouragement :kisses3:, I have really got into the daily updates:):)
Well done everyone :T:T some of you manage so many days. You are all inspirational :A

Had to do some shopping to today cos dh only has a tiny brain and can't buy cleaning stuff, loo , toiletries and wipes when he is doing a BIG shop cos they arent food so they don't enter his head (grrrrr)
As for the breadmaker (yesterdays sin spend) I have two tiny breadaholics to feed and I can just set it on at night and they wake up to yummy (and cheap) fresh bread. They eat it as snacks as well so can't get enough of the stuff!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

I missed out on my planned NSD today (the one that would have got me my pony!!!) 'cause we had to pop over to friends' house and we needed fuel on the way - so £10 diesel spoilt my plans
Fridays are my car boot/shopping day but Saturday is looking very good as hubbie is helping mate with car boot and will be out from 4 am to 3 pm - I will have a long long lie-in and won't be able to go out as no transport
Roll on Saturday for my pony NSD 17Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Awww 3Dogs you can borrow my pony until you get yours
I managed another NSD today taking my total to 19, well I think I did... I got a code from Mr T for free delivery when you spend over £50, so I've put an order in today but it isn't being delivered until Tuesday so money won't go out of the bank until then, so was it a spend or not Spoon? I'll wait and see what the consensus is before I update my total to 19 in my signature.
As an aside my Mr T total was just over £58 with the £3.50 delivery, but when I put the code in, it took £6 off so I got £2.50 off my shopping as well. Used the code to stock up on cat food for DH's cat and some store cupboard bits and bobs, so rather pleased with that. I didn't realise that free delivery could net more than the actual delivery.
The nut roast sounds nice CW, I used to make a cashew nut roast and really enjoyed it, not had nut roast for ages, mind you nuts are so expensive these days I find, hope you get all the paperwork and student finance sorted out, they don't half make people jump through hoops. Off for an early night, been a long day.
