For £5.2k you could get your license, insurance, some good kit and a bike in very very good condition. And you wouldn't look silly like you would in a sports car, either

Good luck, whatever you choose to buyKavanne

Really, you are starting to tempt me but DONT! My parents would die with worry
I want a sports car that doesn't look chavvy... Though I know that can be a bit of a paradox, the Vauxhalls dont do too badOr some focuses!

I'm sorry but an Astra is not a sports car, no matter what they shove under the bonnet. Its a front-wheel-drive borefest. The only Vauxhall that could be considered a sports car is the VX2000.
These are cheap sports cars that will hold their value, and which will be reliable and not expensive to repair:
Mazda MX-5
Honda S2000
BMW Z3
Alfa GTV (ok maybe not as reliable as the above)
Fiat Barchetta
Lotus Elise
You've also got your BMWs, your older (but entirely serviceable and brilliant to drive) Porsches like the 944 or the 928.0 -
Thank you so much0

I'm paying £140 per month on a lease for the Astra.. It'd be £250 for a VXR or SRI probs...
Isn't a lotus elise going to be near double that!??!?! haha[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Not if you get a loan and buy second hand. If you're leasing cars, you're paying for depreciation. Which on a Vauxhall is a lot.0

Leased cars aren't always brand new - it could be used on a PCP....0

The lease I got was from Hippo Leasing.. The car was 1 year old with around 10k (bit less iirc)... £140 a month for 3 years basically...
With balloon and everything considered theres just under 5k to settle but webuyanycar.com values it at just over 5k, meaning I'd get even more selling private or doing some sort of part ex with a dealer..
So just depends what I want to go for next and how much more I can afford to pay monthlyI don't think I'd go for a brand new car (don't see the point at the moment when I'm happy just paying for something monthly like this)...

Is it a 5 door? Good luck selling it privately if it is
Tried to sell mine last month - not a chance :rotfl:
Saying that if you were willing to take anything that's more than the WBAC price you'd probably do well enough (although mine ended for less than their price on eBay, reserve not met obviously)0 -
Yeh it's a 5 door
Dealers usually give good prices when doing part ex so I'll prob end up doing thatAnyway need to get my eye on a new car before I start considering that...
Still need a key for my current one first[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."
