Fancy a sports car - Options?

Options
Hi All,

I currently pay £140ish a month on a hire lease deal for a nice Astra SXi... if I sold the car, webuyanycar values it at £5.2k (so I imagine I'd get more in a part ex at a dealer...)

I'm thinking of upgrading - Can afford up to 200/250 a month and would like a faster hatch basically... Focus RS is way over my limit I imagine ;), but something like an Astra SRI or something else that's sporty (1.8ish or 1.6 turbo type thing)...

I'm new to the buying a car market really. The deal I'm on now my father found while I was at University so this will be the first time I go solo...

Can anyone recommend maybe dealers for getting sports hatchbacks fairly new with good deals? I still haven't decided on which car I'm looking for so just seeing what's around :)

Thanks!

Have a look on the Evans Halshaw website. They have a few Focus STs on there. Are they sporty enough?

And before the harbingers of doom arrive with tales of woe about EH...

I bought a 56 Focus in Dec 07 from the Evans Halshaw website. Great car to drive, and wouldn't have changed it now if it was a requisite of the car allowance I get.

Just PXed it through EH, for an 09 Focus and on both occasions I have been well looked after.

Don't bother with a 1.8 Astra - they're thirsty and not all that fast. 1.6T is a far better bet :)

Check where youd stand with getting out of your lease agreement though, the car doesn't belong to you remember....

I've already checked that :) There's about 4.5k left to settle so the cars value is plus that.. then the car is mine... So if I settle the finance the car is mine basically thus I can sell it.

I have a friend with a VXR so I want to avoid the same one as him ;) Maybe an SRI though or a megane sport or something.. even maybe a focus?

1.6T SRI :T Or the 1.9 diesel if you can cope with the maintainance issues.

Will look at the 1.6T SRI :) I have the 1.6 Twinport SXI at the moment and love it - just fancy an upgrade and it won't cost much more by the looks of things...

Lovely smooth engine, but jesus what a bleedin nightmare when they go wrong - mainly on the 150bhp model.

Lol a motorcycle in Leeds city centre? May as well just ride a bike in the middle of the inner ring road... Quicker death tbh ;)
