  • Thanks ISOM, DD is staying at home for the moment and traveling in- she wants the security and it will save some money as i work nearby.

I feel really down about the car, don't know why- just pee's me off when garages try to rip me off. It turns out the part is dearer than i thought as he looked at the wrong form, so although it is dearer it is cheaper than the garage. I have to find the money from nowhere at the moment. On a tight budget, that is now non existent.

Mr.B has also managed to overspend this month and the main account looks dire- no sign of his bonus yet, so that will remain overdrawn and as you may have gathered i am still getting no sleep. Things need to change a lot!

    Late night ramblings again.

is the car not still under warranty with only 24000 on the clock?

No, it is out of warranty- it is 06 but only had three years. I am writing to Nissan though, out of principle.

what a shame i don't blame you writing to them as thats very low mileage
  • Just a quickie, before i go to bed.

Nissan have now appointed a case manager to my request. So they will make a decision tomorrow. Fingers crossed on that.
I have the back up of a couple of other dealership quotes- so i know i can afford it( well kind of, because i don't want to pay out )

I also have a 0% balance transfer on one of my old cards- so looking at the best way to play that, as TBH it is the only empty card i have and if i have no other options then this is the one that i will have to get the car fixed on :( the part is very expensive due to price hike :(:(

I have just got my insurance to pay for as well and the quote with cashback is cheaper than last year- £211 :)

So very expensive month and no dosh for squiggle room. But what's new?

So that is all for now- only way up is forwards..

    Night all Bob x

    Morning Bob, long time!
Don't let Nissan off the hook, that's rubbish, 24000 miles! Good that you are talking to a case manager at Nissan though, just don't get mucked about by the dealer when it comes to fixing it. X

  • I hope so Pepe i really do.
Other garage has quoted me £750, for new one fitted- whereas Nissan wanted £1200 for new fitted and that price for reconditioned.

I am hoping to get down further still- pardon the reference..Nissan local dealership weren't happy with me today that i had been onto head office, well it is my money and i am entitled- had to drop off my service record book- and she was there talking at the top of her voice, saying oh we do more service checks than that- etc..( just because i don't have all my services at Nissan)yeah well! I said it was all giving me nightmares it was a lot of money and i don't have it and don't want to borrow it and regardless i was going to try. I looked her straight in the eye too.. Does she really think she could embarrass me? It takes a lot more than that. If i have to resort to weeping i will do :)

I may be on dodgy ground with the services too- seeing as one was missing and i couldn't find the paperwork- it is due a big service now as it happens but that will have to wait- unless i can get them to throw it in for the price as well ;) oops- ever the MSE or tightwad.

Back to work for me now, dongle time is running low.

Service Checks....if the silly moo at Nissan mentions this again ask her when the Steering Column is part of their normal Service Procedures?.....and take a look at any past Service Bills and check to see if they have charged you for any Power Steering Fluid!...I bet they haven't, and if they did it should have been checked out properly!!!

Odds are that, at 26000 miles, you would have had 2 ( maybe 3 ) oil changes and possibly some Brake shoes. Anything else at that mileage should be seen as a fault! Stick to your guns!!

Colleague at work bought a brand new Quashquai (sp?) and some pillock at the Nissan Dealership jacked it up on one of the steering arms! Knobhead! They swore blind that they had not done it and claimed that the fact that the front tyres had gone from good tread to nothing in 500 miles was the way iot was being driven. Nissan Tech at Sunderland sorted it but the Dealer was still whingeing about who was going to pay the £1800 bill....they did!
