It's the cars being unpredictable that throws everything out...but this month can't be as bad as the last0

No you are right Taxi, i have a lot to look forward to this month. I have allowed myself to get over tired and stressed, my son looked at me this morning and just gave me a big hug. I felt like bursting into tears- he just said i was doing to much and not sleeping enough and a few other things re his dad. So will have to seriously get a grip on it all, as it is ok digging my feet in and toughing it all out- but it is affecting me now. I have to think forwards and stop procrastinating or i will make myself ill.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

One reason I stick to old bangers. When the power steering plays-up, you don't worry about fixing it. My latest purchase has a vibration from the engine. Serves me right for not test-driving it, and relying on the car yard to honour the warranty (they disappeared soon after). My mechanic just said that it's not worth repairing, and it would be cheaper to run the car till the engine failed, then get another engine off ebay for £150.
I have decided to save-up for another car when I start back in work.
Trouble is, if you live/work to far from a bus route, then a car is an essential, not a luxury.Never Knowingly Understood.

Nissan dealership are charging £180 for the labour, so all in all i don't think that is too bad. I have spent a total of £130 new tyres, £38 on diagnostic, £211 on car insurance and then the £180 for labour- money i could have done without spending but it had to be done. I am thankful for all the negotiating i have managed to do..stuff i would never have questioned if it hadn't been for this site.
That is good news... :money:boredofbeingathome wrote: »Who said having cars was cheap??

Hi Patman:D I agree, although that is the reason why i ended up buying my car in the first place. I had saved up for it, but the bank swiped my savings to pay into joint account- all when Mr.B had closed down his business account with the same bank- and four years on...:rotfl:
My old car was a permanent fixture at the garage and i needed it for hospital appts with DD2 and my job..sheesh the things we do eh?
Good luck with saving for another car, one chap i know does something similar re Ebay and buying parts from Ebay. Have you thought about car auctions as well? I used to get bits for my Metro from them- once bought a car for £100 as mine needed a new door and some other bits, then i flogged the tyres for about £60 and scrapped the car for £50 so i ended up making a profit and got new door:D Those were the days eh?:rotfl::rotfl: It was my brother who did the labour for me, wish he still lived nearby.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
