Maybe they've increased it to 1GB for iPhone 4 customers. Looks very promising!

    Hi,

I'm really unsure what to do. I was going to upgrade my current Vodafone deal to the 75mins, 250txts at £309 for 32gb handset (£909 over 24 mths).

I spoke to Vodafone and can't do this until Thursday.

I'm just unsure whether this would be the right thing to do. I don't need many minutes at all, I average about 100 txts a month too, so not a big user, but I know for certain that if I had a tariff that allowed web browsing in it I would get plenty of use form that.

I've seen on here that the o2 simplicity is regarded as the best deal, unless 3 or Tesco come out with a winner, but this has been based upon 12 months, if you extended it over 24 mths it costs more than the Vodafone deal.

Basically, I just don't know what I should see as the best deal, simplicity would allow me to sell the phone after 12 months, but then I'd still have to buy another anyway. I really don't know what to do.

    Any advice would be welcome.

Possibly, but until it's on the web site who knows.

The darn thing is out in three days, I wish everyone would stop being so cagey. My local Vodafone store has no idea how many they are getting, and won't take pre orders it's turn up and hope for the best. Not idea for people who have to be in work at 8am...

    Talk about a dogs breakfast...

As Satkin said it all depends if you want to replace it after 12 months or not, if you do then Tesco's £640 a year is the lowest, if you don't and want to run to 2 years then all the 2 year contract deals are cheaper when you break it down to per month.

What also doesn't help is the supposed shortages mean you probably need to decide before all the details are out on the 24th or risk missing out.

Some might say your as well not having insurance because if you do drop it and smash the screen it's £146 from Apple for a replacement.
Obviously no use if it gets nicked but worth thinking about.

Doesnt bank insurance and networks insurance cover you for accidental damage?

princesszpuzzles might not be far off the mark  but their stock could be  miniscule for quite some time so the chance of taking up this offer could be almost non existant till the end of July at the earliest. Remember quite a few big Tescos are open 24 hours so might be worth getting there "Extra" early on Thursday :D

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Sorry to shout, but I've already posted on here about insurance. Here's what you do (again):

Check your home contents insurance to see if you have "away from home" or "personal possessions" cover (same thing, different names). The cover is for anything you wear or carry in everyday life in and out of the home. Essentially, it covers the contents of your handbag/briefcase, your jewellery/watches, purse/wallett AND YOUR MOBILE PHONE. I always recommend you phone your insurers and speak to them about the iPhone, so they can confirm cover to you.

If you don't have the cover, ask them for a quote to add it. You probably want a limit of £3,000 to cover everything (you insure for the most you would be wearing and carrying, so think about what you take on holiday with you: clothes, the above items, cameras, etc.) and a "single item limit" of £1,000 (a set can be considered a "single item" so you need to insure the phone, case, cables, extras). When you ask for the quote, make sure they tell you:

    1. The annual price of the cover
    2. The price up to your next renewal date
    3. How much of 2 above is an administration fee (probably £25).

The admin fee is "one off" to cover the cost of changing the policy so if there's anything else you need to update, do it now.

If you want, you can ask for the normal cover and the specify your iPhone too. If you are worried about it, that's the best way to go and if you are doing it at the same time as adding the normal cover, the additional cost is a couple of quid at most.

"Personal Possessions" cover includes "unattended theft". This is where you are in a cafe, put your bag down and go over to the counter to buy your coffee. You come back to find the bag (and phone) have been stolen. PP cover would pay for the bag, contents and phone. Phone insurance would pay nothing.

    My 2p:

Mobile phone insurance is a ripoff. It's worse than Payment Protection Insurance. Not only is it expensive; it provides less protection than you probably have in place already.

As i live at home currently, would i be covered as any insurance my parents may or may not have would obviously be in their name.

My g/f also lives with us, so would she be covered as her surname is different, yet she still lives with us.

May be daft questions, but i don't know the answer, hence why i'm asking them :)

You need to read your parents insurance policy, any answer here will be a guess.

You will be covered, your G/F possibly, but only the schedule will tell you exactly what is covered

Your parents will also have to agree to it?
