Hi,
It has only had 1 previous owner, who I contacted and sold due to a divorce. He said the car was fantastic no problems and was upset to see it go.
They gave me the extra cover to compensate for being over charged.....I will give them the chance to rectify it, but in terms of replacing it - I don't think they have one to the same spec (sat nav, parking sensors and a few other optional extras) and I specifically wanted everything this car had so it was a match made in heaven.0 -

Hmm fine if you are happy with the car, but the point is they haven't given you anything in compensation, you had the waranty and you had the parking sensors. Without offence I think you have been bent over.
Get back to them with the other owners details, statement etc and demand a refund of the overcharge.
The car, give them time to fix it, get in writing what they have replaced etc,;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
When your buying a car, visit the website for that cars owners club....
Most have a list of good and bad stealerships and the corresponding horror stories for each.
Name and shame!!!!!
This isn't just a VX problem, it's a problem with most if not all makes of vehicle. The problem is they're very good at talking people into thinking they're getting a great deal, when infact they're taking them for a fool. Idiots are taken in by this !!!!!!!! and they go around telling friends and family about this "great garage" they got their car from.
These bad stealerships need to be shutdown, they need their reputations destroyed!!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

With regards the DPA - leaving someones; name, address, contact no, bank details etc etc in the vehicle is not breaking the DPA what is? And as for leaving receipts in the glovebox - yes people do it, in their own car!
Well, in a few weeks the DVLA will send you a bit of paper with the details of the previous owner on it :eek:0 -
Sappy..i am sorry for what happened to you. You say that your dad is a car salesman..why did you not take him with you when you bought the car?? he would have told you:
1- £399 for a GAP insurance is a rip off. you will get it for around £120 on line.
2- you did not need to buy a one year warranty as the car is only 10 months old and should still have over two years manuf. warranty.
3- you could easily spot parking sensors, so paying for something which has already been fitted is !!!!!
I do not want to be harsh but clearly you did not do your homework before forking out £160000 -
also ask them if all recalls / reworks have been carried out. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-g7aek2ebhu
omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like a rental car cos it had a little sticker by the fuel flap. Probably been red lined
Have a look on youtube for "Car rental abuse..."0 -
This HAS to be a wind up. The OP
1) Has a car salesman for a Dad but got ripped off big style.
2) Has a husband/partner who let her go and spend more than £15000 on a car without looking at it himself.
3) Let salesmen tell her lie after lie without ever checking that any of what she was told was true.
Sorry but it all smells fishy to me.
Joke thread probably. How many people can we hook in with this impossible story?0 -

Yeah but come on, we've all redlined rental cars and they didn't catch fire :rotfl:0 -

My thoughts exactly - someone with a grudge against Vauxhall perhaps?
My fil used to be a mechanic and we have always taken him to look at potential cars - who on earth wouldn't take someone who knows their stuff??
Also, she knows she's a push over and her OH isn't, but went alone to buy a £15k car??
And, as already pointed out, she normally buys vans but is young and inexperienced...?
Either a WUM or a total dullard, that's for sure!0 -
Hi,
This is a genuine post. I am the man purchasing, I am using my partners account since she recommended me on this site for advice. As for my dad, me and him don't see eye to eye which is part of the problem.
Firstly, I expected a Vauxhall garage to be honest, which clearly it wasn't! It is not my fault that a main dealer lied and I choose to take their word on what was said rather than assume everyone is giving me bull.
Anyway, I went back to the dealer today to discuss the issue at hand (after being told I would be recovered at 0930-1030 I was recovered at almost 1300!!). Basically I took the hooky invoice and asked them about the sensors and if that was why I had to wait for the car to be ready, a total of 4 days, they kept looking at each other (manager & guy who sold me the car) saying 'the sensors are on the car'. After going into detail about the talks we had prior to accepting the car, the manager changed the invoice to match the information given - at which point I had him by the balls. Furthermore, I got him to say he had the car from 500 miles and it was always a Vauxhall owned car. Whilst doing this I text the previous owner who confirmed he had done 5,000 miles and it was put in on the log book (why it was only flashed to me).
After recieving a copy of the amended invoice, I then produced the paperwork showing that the garage had been lying and asked what he was going to do about it? He (manager) instantly went red, and his college was silent. After much deliberation we were able confirm that the garage were not aware of the full history and/or did find out, which I replied with 'then the information given shouldn't have been said and it was misleading and untrue'. However the manager tried to dress it up he couldn't. Also in relation to the parking sensors, he confirmed that I was entitled to a refund (without checking if what I said was true or looking at any paperwork) he claimed that he requested the work to be done. Moreover, I was able to challenge this and explain that he had apparently driven the car so didn't the beeps when parking give it away......
I have a Corsa now untill Tuesday when they open and access the fault. The AA blamed an injector/fuel pressue whatever that means but could not find where the fault was specifically - if that makes sense?
I am very disappointed that I ask for advise on here and am insulted on this issue. I put my trust in this dealer because it wasn't a back street car dealer but a registered Vauxhall dealer and was assured by friends/family that buying from a main dealer was the best way. I would be able to supply the car details, garage details and persons involved but this could make things difficult?
I am owed £198 plus interest (as I have part of the car on finance) but also the interest of the car from 25/05/2010 - 01/06/2010 as I was waiting for the car from 25th-29th whilst the 'parking sensors' were fitted and while it is waiting to be seen.
They have a main office relatively local (20mins away) should I call/write/visit them and explain the whole situation and if so will this make things more difficult when getting the car back etc. Also what should I try and get out of the garage given the above as way of compensation. I am not too bothered as to whether the extra money is refunded or put towards another gadget and if so what?
Please advise, I promise that this is true if anyone would like the full details I can always provide it. Thanks.0
