I sent an email through Rightmove to all our local estate agents. I think it was countywide land sales that contacted me who I subsequently phoned and realised that it all sounded a bit dodgy. Why is this company linked to Rightmove?0

Has anyone who 'invested' with Countrywide Land Holdings made contact with a solicitor? If so can you message me as i'd like to pursue a claim against them too.
Cheers

greed wins again,,followed closely by foolishness.....oh dear....It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
I wish my mother taught at your school...she always said "only make a point if it's worth making". You know nothing about my claim and my circumstances so instaed of floating about cyberspace making cheap remarks get yourself a life or even better offer some constructive comments...if you have them.0

well i have certain plots in rusper and cambridge, I have solicitors letters from Cains Associates and that th land is registered to me. Does this mean I dont own anything and all the money I had is gone, please there must be something I can do
If the land is registered at the land registry in your name, then yes, you own the land.
A perfectly legal transaction took place: you paid some money, they sold you some land.
However if you try to sell your land you will be lucky to get a fraction of what you paid: why would anyone pay you that much for a small piece of land that cannot be farmed, cannot be built on, cannot be used?
You could hang on to it and apply for planning permission. It will almost certainly be rejected.
You could hang on longer and wait for policy to change and planning permission to be granted. Perhaps in 50 years from now.....
There again, perhaps not.

You might be throwing good money after bad. That's the problem. If you received paid-for advice about this deal you might be better off suing the advisers. Likewise, if somebody introduced you to Countrywide, depending on what was said ofc.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Hi
I suggest anyone who has been scammed by this company contacts the Metroplitan Police and Trading Standards.0 -
I have contacted a solicitor and am currently going over plans to take this to court. Anyone else interested in joining me is more than welcome. The solicitor seems confident of a successful outcome0

You do know that, even if you have a no-win no-fee agreement with your solicitor, you may become liable for their fees if they can't get them from the other party. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
If you do own the land, what offence has been commited?0
