    Hello RHARRIS

I was interested to read your comments regarding land banking. Have you any experience with this. Last year I bought some land from a Swiss company that has recently gone into administration. The land is owned by me and is registered with the land registry. I am looking to sell this land but not sure who to approach. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. tmcat

Thanks, I will forward you my bank details so you can wire the money to me. I will then courier the documentation to you as soon as I have proof of payment.

    I'll offer you £2.50

    Any further bids?

Oh, and to throw in my usual argument, all these land banking things only pay off if there ISN'T a crash in house prices. Like the one that's just started.

    :p
Bankruptcy isn't the worst that can happen to you. The worst that can happen is your forced to live the rest of your life in abject poverty trying to repay the debts.

Always ask yourself this: Why dont rich city traders cold call you with thier insider money making schemes, or a song writers invite you to have a share in an almost certain hit?

I am new to the forum and I would just like to say there are some good companies out there selling good land with very good chances of planning permisson granted and there are some bad companies promoting sites with no hope at all.

I'd reckon they were all scam artists, to be honest.

    Have a look at:

...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Sadly, this land is now totally worthless. At least as a field you could grow crops on it or graze cows. Now it's all been divided up, nobody has any control at all. So, a field that was worth £2k an acre is now worthless. Maybe track down the other owners and try to put together the complete field? Of course, even that's no help to someone who paid big money for a tiny plot.

In fact, it could be a liability if there are hedges etc to maintain or if there is some potential public liability issue.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
