Even better.
The thing is,they all squabble amongst themselves becuase someones has to fix it.
If voice calls are affected then your voice carrier has to fix i.e crackles on line etc.
If voice calls not affected but BB is,then ISP has to contract Openreach to visit.
If you have been testing it in the mastersocket with all extensions disconnected, then its likely to be a line issue..either poor/resistive joint or faulty wire requiring a pair swap. The terminal box outside probably has screw connections which can become resistive. They now do spliced joints on these rather than terminal blocks. Is the incoming bit of wire from outside box to mastersocket nicked or squashed along its length?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Ahhh...but thats too simple.
BT only contract to supply you with voice calls. Your getting them so no probs there.
Your ISP supplies data on the line.
The bit of BT which deals with data is Openreach.
Someone has to pay them to fix it.
BT (calls) wont do that as the calls bit is working.
Your isp therefore has to authorise ,contract and pay openreach to visit and fix.
openreach have a standard charge for this and also a standard time to complete the visit which isnt very long so dont expect him to hang around!Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). last time a a guy from openreach came round he couldnt get away fast enough lol0

Same here. My excellent ISP (O2 LLU) had to arrange 2 visits by OR as the first guy blagged it,rushed in and out and it wasnt fixed. Second guy was almost as quick but correctly diagnosed and fixed the simple problem. I could have done it myself but didnt want to mess with their bit of wire.pineapplefish75 wrote: »last time a a guy from openreach came round he couldnt get away fast enough lolFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). There is a known issue with bad BB connections, which certain chipsets pick-up, and others don't. You need to make sure if the O/R engineer has 2 modems with different chipsets in in order to correctly check bb drop-out on the line.
Living that close to your exchange means you should get 7 M/b sec at least. I get that, and I live 500 line metres from mine.
As for LLU, according to a contact inside BT, it is now their policy to tell LLU enquirers that the exchange in question is 'full'. This is the only legal way to prevent LLU kit being installed, and then forces the BB companies to supply their customers with a BTw resller package.Never Knowingly Understood.
