  • Hiya! I know exactly what you mean about giving the wrong impression - but I think even my texts accidently drip with desperation! I'm also a bit stressed that I spent a bit more than our £15 limit and don't know whether to not give her one of the pressies I bought, I probably will but I don't want that to give the wrong message either! We met up on Friday and I was a bit of an !!!!, didn't mean to be but afterwards I really felt that I was. I wish I could just not care

I think its okay to splash out once in a while and your Christmas do sounds like it was fun! We're all so fed up at work we're not even having one! Its all rather sad and pathetic.

So have you set yourself targets for the deposit savings? I'm terrible with savings accounts - I just spend as soon as I get up to a reasonable amount (by that I mean more than £10 :rotfl:). Have you got a seperate account that is limited on the amount of times you can make withdrawls?

Sound like you're focussed on what you want to do in 2011 anyway :T

  • Hi IWAH, just catching up a bit. I think it's for the best not to do presents, I sent my ex a card, and his parents and I'm wondering if I look a bit desperate and sad there. But it seems wrong to just stop all contact just like that. Don't worry too much about not starting your savings til after Christmas, it'll be a new year so you'll feel motivated, and it'll do you good to spend a bit on yourself over Christmas.

I'm feeling rotten at the mo, I just wish I could go to bed tonight and wake up in January. Put the tree up today and all I could think was that I should be putting up my OWN tree in my OWN house. My poor dad has to live with me being such a misery, I feel awful.

  • Hey :)

I'm sure there are plenty of people reading - always good to see someone get their debt paid off (and gives us all some inspiration!). I think you're right to try and get that last £125 paid off. You will be able to officially say you're debt free and concentrate soley on the house savings - and its great not to have that nagging few pounds hanging around (she says like she knows - mines a nagging few thousand!)

    Keep going!

  • A massive well done on becoming debt free!

A really fantastic achievement and the deposit money will soon start adding up. Do you not fancy continuing this diary with your savings totals? It is entitled "the quest for home" after all!

    Congratulations again :T
