  • Sorry I have left you lonely for a few months. Although after reviewing all your payments and pay to pay struggles, you sound like you are doing an amazing job.

Your amounts per day have gone up to nearly 20£ which is awesome, and you will be debt free this year, that's only weeks away babe- be proud of yourself. This is one thing some only dream of. Although we never want to wish the year or days away, but here's hoping 2011 hurries up!!!

You and I are in similar situations, we want a home for ourselves. Although I live with my oh, I still want something of my own incase anything happens, and you mentioned being a bit lonely, just think of this awesome opportunity you are making for yourself with home saving, as one day someone will want to share it with you, exciting!!! And then you will have your place, future bfs place and be able to travel and go on amazing trips instead of worrying about money when your older.

Like you I had to have a look at my targets etc, and I upped my car loan payments. But it will be worth it.

Let me know how your weeks going so far, what's your challenge for the week etc? I want to annoy you and make sure your keeping on track

    Goodluck xxx

  • You only have a few weeks left and you will be DF!!! You must be so excited, then new years you can put so much more into saving for the house and every dollar you save and dont spend is going towards your bricks and windows and that amazing kitchen and home that you are going to have.

2011 is going to be a struggle, but just think of the future and 2012 is the year where you and even I, can look for a place to call our own. Its not that far away, especially seeing as what you have overcome.

Amazing job. Now to get through the impending weekend with little spend! Im heading to a house party, so might use some of those bottles of wine I have in the cupboard to get me through.
Have a great end to the week xxx

  • Well today is the day- Goodluck with your CC and cant wait to see what the debt is down too. Weeks to go until its all bankable in your isa and towards that dream home!!!

As i live with my partner now we have all the housey bits and pieces, but when we moved out what was really handy was for the last couple of years and months i would ask for presents towards the house, glory box-type, to help with the initial amount for moving out and accumulating the things you forget you need to buy. I would suggest as 2010 ends each week take 10pounds from each pay and buy something you will need for when you move out, even simple stuff, it will help down the track also.

Its so sad we are wishing away the complete year 2011 hehe as we just want that amount saved and ready to go so we can start searching for that house.

Is there anyway we can look at boosting our savings? Quick ways to get more money in a short period? Selling on ebay etc? Is there something we can both boost and challenge each other to help get there sooner? Or further increase our savings?

My plan is to start looking for a place as of the London Olympics, July 2012. So I have 20 months and 11 days to get my butt into gear and save save save- May I also note that you are lucky enough to be DF in the next few weeks, but I have done things a little differently... Iam savings and paying my Car Loan at the same time, and have upped my payments and worked it so instead of having until 2013 paying it off, I will have it paid off in June 2012, and be able to save the 20k also. I cant wait until Iam as close as what you are- for both you and I in 2012. Yay!

Need your advice: I will have about 9k left on my car as of end of 2010. Do you think I should pay off a big chunk of it in June 2011, I will be able to pay off 8k. Then I should be able to have this paid off, as I will be making normally fortnightly payments also. So clear my complete debt as of June 2011, Then I will have 13 months to save double, 1700 a month, which would allow me to save 22k minimum by July 2012........ Its a tough decision :) Please help xxx
