I was looking up top phone reviews and noticed that the HTC EVO 4G in on there, I have never heard of it...so does that mean that the Desire is now an old phone?...I am due my upgrade June and I don't want to get the Desire if it is now an oldie?!

if you are considering moving to the US then the EVO 4G would be useful (it's a CDMA phone designed for use on the non-GSM Sprint network), however, if you intend staying in the UK/Europe then the UMTS / GSM Desire would be the better model.
There might be other similar phones released by HTC in the next few months but the chances that they will be any significant improvement over the Desire is unlikely.====0 -

thanks, no plans on moving to the US unfortunately, Just wish the desire was as good looking as the EVO 4G

I wouldn't especially worry, just get what you like. You can never keep getting the latest stuff in the mobile world without spending the cash! You wait and there is always something round the corner- HTC desire, iPhone 4G, new HTC, Windows 7 mobile and more.....
It is always the way you get a new phone and something else is out next month, but that is why I tend to go for 18 month deals.0 -
so what is the HTC HD2???
this is getting all so confusing?0 -

HD2 is the older version that uses Windows rather than Android. Personally I wouldn't bother if Windows 7 Mobile is round the corner.0 -
The HTC incredible has been released in usa instead of the desire, looks basically the same but with some better features like 8 meg pic camera.
Every few months new models will be better. Just get what's best for you on the market now unless you want to wait for somethingelse that will be released soonbubblesmoney :hello:0 -
The Desire is the best Android phone currently available in the UK, closely followed by the Legend. The Evo 4G and the Incredible are US only phones. Get a Desire and you won't regret it.
Personally I don't think the Evo 4G is any better looking than the Desire and although the bigger screen wuld be nice to use it would make the phone much bigger. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

You seem to have left the Nexus One out of this which, well in my opinion anyway, is far better than the Desire having had a Desire to compare it to.0 -

I was planning on getting a Nexus One until the Desire was launched. Personally I prefer the Desire to the N1.
TechRadar seem to agree the N1 dropped completely out of their 15 best phones in the world list when the Desire and Legend were launched.
The only real advantage the N1 has in my opinion is faster upgrades of Android, in every other respect I prefer the Desire. It's my problem, it's my problem

Want the latest phone to show off to your mates, use Android and download apps - Get the desire.
If you want the phone for the latest updates, latest hardware and in Google's eyes, the best android phone you can get = get the Nexus one0
