I think i have managed to perfect the art of putting in the correct amount of petrol :rotfl:

Say for example i was filling up £20 worth, I get to £19.70 and then press as softly as I can, stopping every second.. if there's a queue I always feel bad for taking ages but i agree they can be very sensitive sometimes

    Hi,

I was forever going 1-2p over on the petrol no matter how hard I tried not to. It got to the point were it became a challenge! Then, all of a sudden, I noticed at my local Tesco petrol station that the pumps had number keys on, which I either hadn't noticed before or were new, but I found out that when you press to either 'pay at pump' or 'pay at kiosk' then you can enter the amount of fuel you want - the keys have £10, £5, £1 on, so for £20, I had to press the '£10' key twice. You then start fuelling up and the pump automatically stops when it reaches the amount requested. Ingenious.

I'll have to find another mission now!

When I was traveling across Australia I would try and put in 2 cents more petrol than the whole dollar number.

The smallest coins they have out there is 5c so you get 2c wort of petrol for free. Bargain!
