Just popped on here quickly before starting the officework. Really, really gonna get on now.x0 -
Morning.
Way down the list today. Finished work at 2am, woke up at 6am. It will be much the same for the next 6 days until I feel like I have been hit with a big stick. I am sure there are Euro directives about this, but not where i work. Anyway we will press on.
Managed to finish the planting, just need some rain now. It will come over the BHL weekend and spoil run to the sun in Newquay. :rotfl: bunch of teen drunks tearing up the place....
I found that if you buy a pack of living salad from the supermarket and plant each plant out separately you will get a huge patch of salad in a few weeks. Why buy seed?:D
Well, I am going to tidy the house and potter about and try not to do too much before work again....
Cheers folksNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
kezlou whats wrong with your hand ? ( if its not rude to ask)
Its a long story, i burnt my hand last week with hot tap water, it was only under the water for less than seconds. Anyway four days later (on Saturday morning) woke up and my right hand was completely covered in blisters. One of them was about four inches long and two inches wide. So ended up in A & E, i was in so much pain. Went to doctors on Monday to get dressing changed, ended up with a skin specialist looking at it and saying thats not a burn its an allergy. So i'm on flamazine cream, 200mg antibiotics a day and loads of painkillers.
Its finally starting to clear up now though, four blisters started to reduce in size yesterday:D!!!
so now i'm walking around with a plague hand, that's going black with the cream.
beemuzed - chronic pancreatitis, oo thats soudns nasty. I hope his medication calms down for him soon x

Nice morning here and dd does not have any more exams this week so less stressed.
Just about to check Rightmove to see if anything new and then make a list of estate agents and phone them explaining we are cash buyers and details of what we are looking for.
We also want to compose letters asking if people might be considering selling in the near future and also ask around etc.
Might make a curry tonight or else chicken tortillas for tea. Still have boxes to unpack and running out of cupboard space.
DD(21) comes back from uni next week so looking forward to that.
So pleased I have internet access back :j

Morning all..............((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Off to the 'ospital this morning for a chest X Ray Dr. wants to check there is nothing sinister causing my cough. Personally I am pretty sure its caused by nasal drip, but we will see.
We are them going to Aldi for a shop, milk orange juice etc and also a couple of bags of their compost, as Asda at Dunbar still do not have any in.
At quilting yesterday we started to prepare the exhibition which starts on Friday, we got most of the quilts up, a couple of the girls were going back this morning to finish off, it was looking very good when I left. Its a smallish room, but we managed to cram a lot in buy using the table and charis as well as a quilting frame to hang quilts oh as well as the walls.
Its another cool morning, yesterday afternoon turned out fiine, but we are forecast rain for this afternoon, should have put a load of washing in overnight, it will have to wait till tomorrow.
Quiche and home grown (mostly) salad for supper, we have plenty of parsley, so I will make potato salad to have with it.Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Good Morning!
No need to worry Penny, my bottom is safely tucked away, you'll be getting me a bad name!
Happy Anniversary, Mr and MRs Elona
Beemuzed big hugs for you, and yours, hope things are sorted out soon.
Nice to see so many online today. Boys are off school, but they are staying here instead of going to gran's, which was the original plan. DS2's friend will be here in about an hour for a few hours. Plan is to bake them some sort of cake, and keep them busy as it's a bit damp outside today, although bright. WM is on, TD (:o), boys will be getting dressed shortly, and we'll see what today brings.
Hugs to everyone today, hope PenPin Diva SunnyGirl and the other missing peeps are all OK.

:hello:Morning peeps!
I just can't seem to get back into the habit of posting at all and feel very out of the loop
I think it's because I've got medical stuff going on atm and it's making me feel very unsettled. Hopefully all will be sorted soon.
Must confess there hasn't been much in the way of OS happening here lately
, just the usual washing etc. It's been so nice to be able to get the washing dried outside, but has been raining here overnight and looks due to start again soon.
I was planning to make some curtains for the living room (when I can manage to understand the measuring instructions in my soft furnishings book
), so went down the town the other day to look at fabrics, only to find our local curtain shop now only does ready-made and made-to-measure curtains. Not sure where else to look now, but I'm sure I'll find somewhere
I'd like to look in Dunelm Mill, but our nearest one is in Romford and DH isn't really up to trekking over there atm. John Lewis will be out of my price range. Hmmm, unless I were to make the curtains out of unbleached calico and put a border of more expensive fabric along the bottom......What do people think of this idea?
Elona I'm so glad you managed to sell your house at last! Good luck with finding just the right place.
JackieO Hope you had a lovely time (I know you won't see this until you're back home.) Glad your arm feels a little cooler today. With the weather having been so warm as well, it must be very difficult to tolerate.
Welcome to Booskyeboo :hello:
JackieGlasgow How are you today hen, did you manage to get to the doctor?
Beemuzed Big (((HUGS)))) to you and DS, what a worry for you
Hilstep - Sorry your legs are misbehaving again (((HUGS)))
Penelope Penguin I love your signature and have been practising saying it
candygirl Glad the holiday with Boo went so well!
Bitsy beans Have a lovely day off!
kezlou Glad your hand seems to be calming down ((HUGS))
((((HUGS))))) to everyone who needs some today.
Thinking of those MIA, hope they are okay
Seems so odd not to have our MSD starting the thread!
Hope everyone has a good day xx0 -
welcome to Booskyeboo!

JackieG - I love your signature:D
ivyleaf - your curtain idea sounds great to me!(but I cant sew at all
) sorry you've had some medical issues x Do what you love :happyhear0 -
I forgot to welcome Booskeyboo too! Sorry!
Thanks, tappers, I stole it from one of the girls I post with in The Arms, it made me laugh, and is very true, unfortunately!
Ivyleaf I also think you curtain idea sounds good, but beware, I have done this and when I washed them, the Calico shrank and the patterned fabric never, which I hadn't thought of. Redruby pointed me in the direction of Ebay for fabric and wallpaper, and I've bought a few nice bits for not much more then the local market would have been, I would imagine, why not try that?
It's raining cats and dogs hers.

D you have a local market near you?
I managed to get 5 yards of gorgeous thick green curtain material for £5, really good quality as well.
Some people i know use old plain bedding to make and buy thick material to go over the top and bottom.
