Around £60? They are 1 and 2 and each get a present on each others birthday (at the moment!) The birthday girl/boy gets around £40 (2 presents) and the other one gets around £20 (1 present).
I've always done this too coz my 2 are close in age and I wanted to avoid either getting jealous of the other :o but we also use it to give the youngest a present in the summer coz his birthday is only a few days after Christmas...

my 2 are 5 and 6 and we dont base it on a spend amount as such, my youngest wanted a doctor who sonic and figures - i got these for under £30 and as it was all he wanted he had 12 friends to a local fun factory for a party,

my eldest has requested a large lego toy which normally cost around £100, i told him if that was what he really wanted fine but no party which he agreed to - its actually come down in price a little so with some clever buying its only cost £30 ! he may just get his party too . . . .

I also buy a present for the child who's birthday it isnt, its something my parents did and it works well for us

Mine are 22, 19 and 13 and we have always spent about £30-40 on birthdays and around £100 plus stocking fillers at christmas.
The younger one seems to get more during the year, that may be because his birthday is in January but more likely because he is the only one at home!

My daughter is 6 and we spend about £20-30 on birthday presents for her. Christmas is about £50.

Our daughter recently was 3 in March and we spent roughly about £20 as she got a space hopper, and dora toy and book which I had originally bought for christmas but decided that she had enough for christmas and kept this for her birthday. Christmas - spend roughly £110 for 2009 as it was 5 different presents. This year hoping to buy 1 main present and just the stocking fillers if possible.

Mine are 4 and 5, and I would say we tend to spend around the £30 mark for them on their birthday presents, and around £30 for a main Chrimbo pressie plus £10-£20 in stocking fillers.

Mind you, they are (so far!) the only grandchildren each side, plus the only children in a lot of our social group (although that is all now changing) so they tend to get so much stuff anyway!

It doesn't tend to be about the money, though, its about what they want (within reason) and what we can fit in the house!

DS's will be 7 and 11 both in August normally spend £50 on main presant for birthday usually Lego and then a couple of extra bits £5-£10 each, they did want PS3 / Xbox so would have been an expensive month but have decided on wrestling figures now so I'm not complaining
