How on earth do you lose a £300+ phone 7 times? I guess that is one of the reasons I posted because I have never lost my wallet, phone or keys no matter what state I may be in at the end of the night!

I did fall off my bike on a return journey home after being out and realised that I had lost my £25 Samsung Mp3 player - I wasn't best pleased!!

My sister has lost her keys more than once resulting in my dad having to fork out for a locksmith. Not happy.

Also when waiting for a bus directly opposite a police station and with no one else there I spied a fiver blowing about in the wind a bit like the carrier bag in American Beauty. I stamped on it and pocketed it.

In that case I surmised that it was "finders keepers" even though I know that isn't actually a law I have so little faith in the police that I distrust them that much I would not be happy leaving a found fiver with them without thinking they would spend it and not even record it!! I am sorry but I am not exaggerating about the police in our locality.

They let a murderer get away with murder and remain free for 5 years even though he was the prime suspect. He has only just been recently charged!! We have been burgled twice and had 3 bikes stolen - did anyone ever get charged - our property back? Don't make me laugh!!!

Although it was good of the police to allow one of our bikes to end up in their "police auction" without even bothering to contact the victim of the crime!!! :T I had to prove that it was our bike they were selling, I had inserted a note in the seat tube with details only I could have known. Did I get an apology? Pigs might fly!!!

I once found a handbag at the bus stop on my way to work. Despite feeling a bit awkward about it, I looked inside it and found the lady's business card in her wallet (along with numerous credit card, driving licence, bus pass etc). Weirdly enough, she worked in the same place as me !!! (huge government building as the other end of town).

So, when I got to work I called her office and explained that I had found her bag, and her assistant arranged for someone to come to me to collect it. They said her handbag had been snatched from her in Sainsbury's the day before, nowehere near the bus stop I found it at either...
I came back to my desk after lunch to find a huge bunch of flowers she had sent for me!

My partner recently found and returned a wallet with £310 in, even though he's got big money problems himself. It was clearly an old ladies wallet and he felt things just aren't right to profit from (like forgetful old ladies). He did get £20 and a big thanks for his trouble though, which was at least guilt-free money.

  • i was once shopping in tesco when my daughter was about 2, i picked up a trolley and when i went to put my daughter in the seat noticed a filofax thing, it had over £100 in it, along with massess of cards (i swear i have never seen so many!) and lots of personal info. i didnt want to hand it in to mr tesco because for some reason i can never fully trust them, so i managed to find a contact tel number in it and phoned the guy it belonged to, he lived a few miles away and had been home for some timeso he asked if he could put it up the next day. no problem,

he came to pick it up the next day (not one thing missing i may add) was very very pleasant and offered me £30 which i refused (i really didnt like the idea that he felt he had to give me money for returning it) but he instisted we have it.

i have also found a ladies purse when picking up kids from school run, managed to call her to and return it. I am a strong believer in Karma and i like to think that if i loose my wallet it would get returned too, sadly when i lost my wallet shortly before xmas i haven't seen it since!

It's horrible when we go out of our way to help people and get nothing in return. Nothing to do with wallets but I remember going out of my way to help some at work who kept sending emails to the wrong place, after I spent half an hour helping her out I got shouted at and told it was my fault that the mailing lists weren't clear and I should sort it out.
