My dad found someones phone in a retail park we were at. Phoned 'Mum' and had to arrange to meet him back there the next day to hand it over (luckily he drives past there every day.)0

I've twice lost my wallet in the street and had it returned to me.
The first was the most amazing. It was after a rugby match in Cardiff. I bought drinks around 10pm, but by the time I reached the chippy an hour later it was no longer in my pocket. I spent the night at a mate's house and the next day decided to call in at the police station, which was a fair walk from where I'd lost it, in the slight hope it had been handed in.
Incredibly, someone had found it on the ground after 11pm and taken it straight to the police station to hand it in. Fortunately they left their name and I had great pleasure in sending them a cash reward.
The second time my wallet fell out of my pocket as I was getting into my car outside my house. A lad found it, saw my surname inside it and vaguely remembered seeing it on a membership list at the video hire shop where he worked part-time. He looked up the address and brought it round that night. Again, I happily gave him a reward for his honesty.
It's fantastic when you encounter people helping each other out like that. I'll never forget it.0 -
Couple of stories from my work, once my dad found a wallet with £100 and called the owner etc, owner claim to collect and didnt even say bye, not a thanks nothing.
Not a long time after, dad found another wallet with a few hundred in this time, he considered not bothering but did anyways, guy turns up and couldnt be happier and more grateful and instantly hand over the £400+ to the staff, he then went on to explain that it contained all his share etc amounting to hundreds of thousands and near enough, his entire worth lol.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
my parents were at a scissor sisters gig a few christmases ago, and i called at about half eleven, to let them know i was going to bed, and make sure they had keys with them. my dad must have dropped his phone at some stage as some random guy answered, so i told him my mum's name, and asked him to ring that number, the guy then met my parents at the bar at the venue, and got a free drink for being honest!0

I was in this situation last year - some lovely person phoned me and said they had my wallet. They picked it up and took it home (none of my home details were in my wallet) and I picked it up the next day.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I left my wallet on the train. As well as having all my money and cards I also clipped my keys to it and lost them as well and was stranded at a connecting train station, no money and even if I could borrow money I wouldn't be able to get inside my home. I called National Rail asking if they could contact the guard and ask if it had been handed in or have a look for it but the first thing the girl I spoke told me was that I should just cancel my cards, no suggestion of lost+found or contacting the guard. When I asked why she couldn't try and contact the guard she said nobody in National Rail was able to contact them!
The guy at the ticket office was more helpful, he found out where the train's last stop was and tried to call a few times but got no answer but told me the same train was coming back in the other direction so I got on it. The guard there told me it had been handed in at New Street so I swapped over and went there. Luckily both guards were understanding about why I didn't have a ticket and my wallet was waiting for me at New Street with all the money and cards inside.0 -
I found a neighbours purse outside my house.
I knocked and told her where I'd found it, she just took it off me and didn't say thanks!

As my boyfriend is a Dj i go on a lot of nights out (yay) as I don't really drink (can never afford it) I always end up finding loads of phones. I find the best way of getting them back is having a look at their texts (a bit nosey I know) and sending a text off the phone to which ever name comes up the most and telling them I've found it and asking if theres any way they know of of returning it. I've never had a rude person and they're generally very very thankful to have their phones back!0

A year or so ago I had parked my car at the park and ride and I realised that the key was sticking in the lock when I tried to unlock it. It wasn't until I got in the car that I realised that someone had broken into it because the glove box wouldn't open and my sunglassees that were in there were on the floor. They'd punched a hole through underneath it somehow, after, I'm assuming, bing unable to break the lock on it. There was a card from the police on my dashboard with a crime reference number on it asking me to call them. They told me that someone walking down the street next to it had spotted the guy breaking in and chased them off! They then called the police to report it after the guy managed to get away. I couldn't believe that someone had gone to the trouble of chasing them aswell as contacting the police, in this day I honestly would not have blamed them for ignoring it, especially as there are well known gangs operating in that area. Thanks to him they had been scared off before they could cause much damage other than busting the lock to the extent where I couldn't lock the car, nothing had been stolen, no window broken and the car was still there. The only thing I wished he'd done was left his name and number so I could have thanked him and got him a drink but I understand why he may not have wanted to.
On the other hand, I hope that the scrote who stole my handbag from right next to me last month gets what they deserve someday. Don't even care about my phone and cashcard as it was insured and the card was cancelled but I cannot afford to replace my camera. I will never understand how people can comfortably feel that they have a right to take something that doesn't belong to them and that someone else has worked hard to pay for. Scummy low life.0 -
My daughter left her DS on bus had the charger in & a load of games must have defintly been found by an adult as we lost it early in the morning we never did get it back & what always annoys me is that you could see that it belonged to a child had a bratz skin on it & it was in a girly little carry case, Unfortuntly there are more dishonnest people out there more than anything else, Glad that you got your wallet back you were very lucky a decent person found it does also give me a little bit more faith in people too :beer:0
